Uzņēmums redz savu vietu un lomu novada un tuvākās apkaimes vides resursu un dabas daudzveidības saglabāšanā, kā arī kļūst par savas apkārtnes vēstnesi un izglīto/informē klientus par novada ievērojamākajām vietām un apskates objektiem.

Uzņēmumā ir persona, kas atbildīga par vides risinājumiem. Tāpat visi uzņēmuma darbinieki ir iepazīstināti ar Zaļā sertifikāta darbības pamatprincipiem. Katrs darbinieks ir informēts atbilstoši savai atbildības sfērai. Tādā veidā tiek nodrošināts, ka uzņēmums ikdienā visur darbojas saskaņā ar zaļās uzņēmējdarbības kritērijiem.

I. Ievads
1. Natural resource protection vision, cooperation, general issues
1.1. The owner/manager of the company has a strategic vision of the place and role of their company in preserving the environmental resources and natural diversity of the region and the surrounding area, as well as becoming a messenger of their surroundings and educating/informing customers about the region's most notable places and attractions.
1.2. The company has a person responsible for environmental solutions. All employees of the company are also familiarized with the basic principles of the Green Certificate. Each employee is informed according to their area of responsibility. This ensures that the company operates in accordance with green business criteria everywhere on a daily basis.
1.3. The buildings and premises used by customers comply with the requirements set out in Latvian building codes.
1.4. The company meets the minimum quality requirements of "Lauku ceļotājs"
1.5. There are no pets roaming freely in the company's public areas.
1.6. The company's employees are familiar with and cooperate with other Green Certified (and environmentally friendly) farms in the region.
2. Energy saving
2.1. The company's total electricity consumption and consumption by individual devices or groups of devices are regularly recorded and analyzed.
2.2. Customers are provided with information on saving electricity for indoor and outdoor lighting
2.3. Thermal insulation of buildings (including windows and doors) complies with the requirements set out in Latvian building codes
2.4. In no less than 75% of cases, energy-efficient bulbs are used for indoor and outdoor lighting
2.5. Energy consumption for building heating, saunas and bathhouses is controlled and managed
2.6. Heating and cooling equipment (air conditioners) are used according to the season and/or meteorological conditions. All measures are taken to save energy and to use the equipment only in case of special need.
2.7. Refrigerators and freezers are operated in a way that minimizes energy loss. All kitchen appliances are operated in accordance with good practice. When they need to be replaced, appliances with the highest possible energy efficiency (A+) are purchased.
2.8. Individual heating does not use fossil fuels
2.9. Part of the electricity is generated without fuel consumption or using renewable energy resources

2.11. Household and office appliances have a Class A energy efficiency label or a substantiated plan for replacing old equipment.

3. Water saving and consumption
3.1. The residence regularly monitors water consumption.
3.2. Guests can adjust the frequency of linen changes

3.4. In 75% of cases, the average water flow from showers in customer-use showers does not exceed 9 liters per minute

4. Waste management, including hazardous waste
4.1. The company has a vision on how to reduce waste in the future

4.3. Company employees are informed about the procedures for sorting, collecting and transferring waste
4.4. The company sorts and transfers the types of waste listed in the criteria application requirements

4.8. The company manager has knowledge and understanding of the management of worn-out refrigeration equipment, air conditioning equipment, heat pumps, fire protection equipment, and electrical distribution equipment.
4.9. There is a waste bin in each toilet and bathroom.
4.10. Biodegradable polymer garbage bags are used on the farm.
4.11. The company does not use disposable products (dishes and cutlery) during catering and events, unless they are made of biodegradable material.
4.12. Guests are not offered personal hygiene and toiletries in small packages
4.13. Organic kitchen waste and garden waste (if any) are sorted into BIO bins/storage areas.
4.14. The company does not use food products in small packages, unless the packaging is made of biodegradable material.
4.15. Unnecessary furniture, textiles, electrical goods and other items that are functional are sold or donated to charities or other interested parties.

5. More environmentally friendly household chemicals
5.1. Disinfectants are used in accordance with legal regulations and manufacturer's instructions.
5.2. The detergents used are environmentally and health-friendly
5.3. Doormats are placed at the front door.
5.4. The hot water temperature is not less than 60 C.
5.5. At least 50% of the detergents and cleaning products used are eco-labelled
5.6. No air fresheners harmful to the environment or human health are used
5.7. Technologies with limited use of chemicals are used in cleaning rooms and surfaces
5.8. Detergents, cleaners and disinfectants are purchased in large packages and used in refillable containers.
6. Restrictions on the use of substances and materials hazardous to the environment and human health
6.1. Clear smoking regulations are posted inside and outside the premises in accordance with the procedures and restrictions set out in legal acts.
6.2. Chemical plant protection products and other compounds that adversely affect the environment and human health are not used in the company's outdoor environment.
6.3. Living room interior items (bedding, curtains and carpets) are made from natural (and human health) friendly materials
6.4. The presence of allergenic materials and agents in indoor and outdoor areas is avoided as much as possible.
6.5. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) floor coverings and garden furniture made of the same material are not used in the premises.
7. Transportation services
7.1. The customer has access to information about public transport (bus, train, nearby city transport) options
7.2. A parking lot of appropriate size has been created for parking customer (group) vehicles.
7.3. The company has information about the nearest bicycle rental points.
7.4. Customers are offered various types of bicycles (including electric bicycles)
7.5. Information is available about the nearest electric charging points for electric and hybrid cars.
7.6. An electric car charging point/location has been established on the territory of the tourist accommodation.
7.7. Technically appropriate and safe bike racks have been created
7.8. A secure (lockable) bicycle storage facility has been created for cyclists who are staying overnight or for a longer period of time.

8. Food and catering services
8.1. Customers are offered food products grown and produced on their own farm, in the nearby area and/or in Latvia.
8.2. Customers are offered organically certified food products grown and produced in Latvia.
8.3. Customers themselves or accompanied by employees can go to the garden/field and participate in the harvesting process or pick the garden's bounty.
8.4. Customers are offered special dishes, the recipes and preparation of which are based on Latvian traditions and their raw materials are of local (Latvian, regional) origin.
8.5. Customers are also offered food without animal products.
8.6. Products whose labels state that they “contain genetically modified organisms” are not used in food preparation.
8.7. Customers are informed that tap water is potable.
9. Environmental education, information circulation and communication, environmentally friendly activities and products
9.1. The green certificate is placed in a place that is clearly visible to customers
9.2. Information (folder) with Green Certificate materials, regulations and criteria has been prepared.
9.3. Information that the company has been awarded the Green Certificate is visible in virtual media and printed materials.
9.4. The company offers or has information available to customers about local nature tourism attractions, nature-friendly active recreation offers, protected areas, environmental guides, etc.
9.5. Customers are offered environmentally friendly equipment rental - bicycles, poles, boats, skis, binoculars, plant and bird identifiers, etc.
9.6. "Green Tips" are placed in a place(s) that are clearly visible to customers (including in a virtual environment)
9.7. The company's employees and customers have access to information on which institutions or how to address environmental violations detected in the area.
9.8. Customers have access to information about the surrounding species, habitats and biodiversity
9.9. The company's employees have established contacts with the Nature Conservation Board - they are informed about current events in nature conservation, sustainable tourism, environmental education and other areas related to the Nature Conservation Board.
9.10. The company's employees expand their knowledge of current environmental issues and participate in environmental education and nature protection-related events organized in the municipality or region.
