Das Unternehmen der Familie Barkāni betreibt die Herstellung von hochwertigen Getränken aus in Lettland angebauten Früchten und Beeren. Der Markt befindet sich in Straupe, Gemeinde Zirgi. Der Markt arbeitet unter dem Markennamen Earth Markets der renommierten internationalen Organisation Slow Food. Angeboten werden gute und reine Produkte, die in gutem Glauben angebaut werden, um die Nachhaltigkeit des Landes, das lokale Wissen und die Traditionen zu erhalten.

Während der Öffnungszeiten des Marktes serviert die Küche von Straupe Zirgu pasts köstliche Speisen nach lettischen Traditionen, die aus lokalen Produkten zubereitet werden.

The Jaunpils Crafts House opened on May 10, 2015, and it is home to a group of weavers from Jaunpils that was established in 1970, as well as the “Dzīpars” organisation.  The group is led by a master weaver, Velga Pavlovska, who is happy to share her knowledge with the 18 women who are part of the group.  She organises the work of women who do handicrafts, and she also conducts tours and creative workshops.  Visitors can learn about the work of weavers and other master handicraft specialists, take part in educational master classes, go on tours and purchase various souvenirs.

About 20 minutes by car from Sigulda, this is a venue that offers you a chance to go fishing in a pond that covers 3 ha and offers every opportunity for relaxation.  You can rent a boat, and during the winter you can go ice fishing.  Next to the pond is a two-story house with a kitchen and an opportunity to spend the night as long as you bring your own mattress.  There are three rooms on the lower and three on the higher floor of the building.  Next to the house is a lean-to, and there is a pergola not far from the pond.  The More War Museum is a bit more than half a kilometre away.  Also nearby is the Safari Park.

The true country ice cream at Dviete is provided by a family company which makes ice cream from locally sourced milk and barriers.  There are no E-substances, no plant oils, and less sugar than is common.

The cows which provide the milk are not kept in sheds.  They graze in the biological pastures of the Dviete wetlands.  They are known as “happy cows,” and the milk ensures a unique taste for the ice cream that is made of it.  The café offers homemade ice cream and waffles, as well as delicious coffee in a lovely and well-appointed place from which you can see the lovely and extensive Dviete wetlands.

Groups can contact the ice cream café to arrange for tastings or master classes on how ice cream is made.

In der geerbten Wirtschaft (Wohnhaus aus Holz mit dekorativen Zargen und Fensterläden) stellen die Wirte nach alten und modernen Rezepten Käse aus der Milch her, die aus den auf diesem Hof gezüchteten Kühen gemolken wird. The watermill of the Krape Estate is found on the Lobe River in the Ogre Administrative District.  Owners offer tours of the mill so that you can learn how the old mill operates.  You can stroll along the banks of the river or learn about plants in the meadow.  There are places for tenting, but the main operation here is the production of elixirs from meadow plants, production of soy wax candles, production of etheric oils and hydrolats, a well as growing trout and African catfish that can be viewed during the season.  A new thing is SPA services with floating, a halotherapy salt beach and an aromatherapy steam system.

Floating is a unique way to boost your health.  You’ll be dipped into a warm magnesium salt solution, which will allow your body to relax completely in physical, emotional and intellectual terms.  The solution (MgSO4) is very concentrated, and it has a temperature of +37C, which is body temperature.  That’s what makes the procedure so relaxing.  Your body will not sink because of the concentration of salt, and you will float above it like bobber.  You will relax all of your tendons and possibly compressed nerves.  Your limbs will “oil up.”  Your body will receive a very necessary dose of magnesium through your skin.

You can also take part in baking KrapesKrepes crepes – home baked crepes made of milk from one neighbouring homestead and eggs from another neighbouring homestead.  You can also prepare a meal on a Himalayan salt board
