In the 19th century at the seaside of Skulte, a small village formed, which was inhabited by fishermen. The name “Zvejniekciems” (Fishermen’s village) arose from the population's main activity. In 1967 the Skulte part of Zvejniekciems was added to the Saulkrasti township. Nowadays Zvejniekciems is the home of Skulte Port, and the rocky beach of Zvejniekciems is located between the port and Saulkrasti Beach, while the village itself can be proud of the creative heritage left by the architect Marta Staņa (1913–1972).

The Buse (Matkule) castle hill is near the Imula River. From the castle hill and from the opposite shore of the river, you can find one of the loveliest views of Kurzeme’s small rivers. Their appearance is best when trees and other flora are bare and the view is unimpeded. A wonderful view of the Imula valley is also seen on the road to the castle hill – near the Buse homestead.

Der Naturpark von Ogre ist ein beliebter Ort für Freizeit, Wandern und im Winter für Skilanglauf. Der größte Teil des Parks ist mit Nadelwald bedeckt, der sich auf einer langen und vergleichsweise schmalen Linie von Hügeln mit steilen Abhängen befindet – ein weiteres Element der in Lettland von der Eiszeit zurückgelassenen Natur. Man findet hier viele verschiedene Pflanzen. Der Jaunogres-Burgberg ist einer der ausgeprägtesten Hügel in diesem Gebiet.

Heutzutage wird der Posten der Küstengrenzwache nicht genutzt. Im Territorium sind noch Denkmal, Grenzpfahl und ehemalige WCs mit einem Papierhälter aus Holz erhalten geblieben. Eine gute Aussicht auf den Posten der Grenzwache hat man vom südlich gelegenen Erdwall aus.

Bestes Apartments is a new guest house that can accommodate 45 guests at a time (+ 10 extra beds). The guest house was built and designed in the Latvian style (a wooden building made here in Mūrmuiža), beds made in Latvia, bed linen made in Latvia were used.

The private museum of antiquities of Zigurds Safranovičš was founded in May 2010. The collection of the museum contains around 50 thousand objects, of which 99% of exhibits have been donated. The oldest and rarest, according to legend, 300-year-old item – Ernst Glick's refrigerator.

The museum's surroundings are a large park of the former Baron Wulf's estate, where it is currently possible to spend the night in tents, as well as available rest areas - canopies, fire places, grills, utensils for cooking, etc., drinking water (from a well), available electricity for telephones, cameras, etc. for charging.
