Затем направимся в Национальный парк Озера Энгуре, где можно увидеть 22 типа орхидей. На следующий день маршрут пойдет в Национальный парк Слитере, бывшую территорию Балтийского Ледового озера и Литорнического моря. Вы пойдете вдоль сосновой тропы на мысе Колка и тропе озера Петерезерс с древними дюнами и пейзажами. Затем направляйтесь по тропе в болото Стиклу, самую большую болотистую территорию в Латвии. В Ужаве откроете для себя самую большую серую дюну в Балтии, перед тем, как направиться вдоль диких берегов реки Вента в очаровательный город Кулдига, с его хорошо сохранившимся деревянным зодчествоми самым широким водопадом в Европе. Маршрут идет вдоль долины Абавы, возникшей в результате таяния древнего льда. В Сабиле вы сможете сделать остановку на известном Винном Холме -месте, где растет самый северный выращиваемый виноград, из которого производят вино — и пройдете вдоль ботанической тропы, остановившись у самого большого дуба в Европе. На пути в Ригу пройдите 5 км вдоль Вересковой тропы Цена, на которой увидите низменные, высокие и пересеченные болота и характерные для них растения. |

The beginning of this circular trail can be found at the Krimulda church – the oldest in Latvia. In one direction, the tourist will pass along the banks of the little Runtiņupīte river (Runtiņš) to the place where it flows into the Gauja river. Among the points of interest along the way are the parsonage of the church, the Kubesele castle hill, a memorial to the Livonian chieftain Kaupo, the Kubesele cave, the Saulstari rock, the “Great Rock”, ancient anchor blocks, ancient graveyards, a unique labyrinth, etc.

A panoramic tour of Lithuania and Latvia with highlights of nature experiences in the National parks and nature reserves. A variety of landscapes, nature attraction sites, birds and wild animals, forests and seashore. The tour also offers some cultural and historical insights. Baltic States are lucky to have plenty of untouched natural territories. During the Cambrian, Silurian and Devonian eras, the territory of the current Baltic States was often covered by seawater, which is why there are places where lots of geological evidence can be found about these periods in history. These are manifested not just in fossils and various geological objects, but also in the unique landscape. For example, The Gauja River basin is an outstanding locations for Devonian cliffs and caves. Other interesting elements of the terrain relate to the development of the Baltic Sea in the past – the Baltic Ice Sea and the Littorine Sea. That is well presented at he landscape of hillocks and valleys in the Slītere National Park. Many forests and bogs have remained virtually untouched as biotopes here. The Ķemeri, Slītere national parks were all established to protect wetlands. Rivers in the Baltic States have not been straightened and dense areas of buildings are not common. There are two “lands of lakes” in the Baltic States – Latgale and Augštaitija. The Baltic States are at the crossroads of the living areas of many different plants and animals, and that is why “northern,” “southern,” “western” and “eastern” species can all be found here. Some national parks have been established to protect distinctive local cultural heritage. |

До восьмидесятых годов 17 столетия в тогдашнем Вецдаугавском микрорайоне, в местечке Сканстниеки стоял Даугавгривский замок, который, из-за естественного изменения русла Даугавы (когда-то Даугава протекала по руслу тогдашней Вецдаугавы), снесли и «перенесли» на левый берег Даугавы. От самого замка ничего не сохранилось, зато еще сегодня видны валы и остатки защитных рвов, которые использовались солдатами шведской армии как место стоянки в начале Северной войны. В любом случае это место, расположенное в северной части города, является интересным объектом исторического и военного наследия Риги, который стоит осмотреть.

Here you will learn about home-based manufacturers, farms, companies and others in southern Vidzeme that produce various dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, ice cream, etc. From Rīga, take the Vidzeme Highway and turn toward Mālpils. On the way to Ērgļi and Jumurda, you’ll be delighted by the hillocks of the Vidzeme highlands and the lovely landscape that they represent. Near Ērgļi you will find Braki, the home of the classical Latvian author Rūdolfs Blaumanis, Meņģeļi, home of the Jurjāns brothers, and the Jumurda Estate. Drive on through Cesvaine, stopping to look at its impressive castle, and on to Madona, where you can have a delicious meal. From Madona, follow the lovely banks of the Daugava River to Koknese (Destiny Island, the Koknese castle, park and church), and on to Skrīveri, where the author Andrejs Upītis was born. There’s a homemade ice cream place and the factory that produces the universally known penuche candy that is sold under the “Gotiņa” brand name in Latvia. Then drive to Ogre for some Sierštelle cheeses and then back to Rīga. |

Lai arī dievnama pirmsākumi meklējami 18. gs. sākumā, tā celtniecību (arhitekts Johanns Eduards de Vite) pabeidza viena gada laikā 1834. – 1835. g. (vēlīnā klasicisma stils). Būvniecības darbus finansēja Krievijas cars. Gan baznīcas atrašanās piejūrā, gan arī tās nosaukums liecina, ka tā celta, godinot Svēto Nikolaju, kas ir visu jūrnieku un zvejnieku aizbildnis. Baznīca apskatāma arī no iekšpuses, kur uzmanība jāpievērš ērģelēm un altārgleznai (1888. g.). |

Вызывающий интерес исторический памятник, чья судьба на протяжении длительного времени была предсказуема, – скрылся ниже уровня моря.
