This study tour is designed to show Latvia's rye traditions as their central focus. This tour has been developed in cooperation with the Latvian Bakers’ Association.

Rye is both the basis of the Latvian diet and  a powerful symbol of Latvia's culture and culinary traditions. Itinerary emphasize traditional rye bread-baking and eating, as well as insights into the history of the rye grain from Latvia's earliest archaeological record to the present day. Itinerary include visits to working farms, grain mills and culturally and historically important locations.

This study tour is designed for groups and may be adapted to the needs, interests and timeframe of each client. Tour cost includes meetings with experts, site visits and admissions, accommodations, specified meals, sightseeing, transportation within Latvia and guides-interpreters.

The Krimulda Castle was built in the latter half of the 13th century.  It was located where the right bank of the ancient Gauja River valley is split by the deep Vikmeste ravine.  The castle was owned by the council of archbishops from Rīga, and it was an impressive structure with a large interior courtyard and a defensive wall that was 1.5 m thick.  The Swedish military blew up the castle when retreating in 1601.  Today the castle hill is forested, and only a small fragment of the castle wall can still be seen.  It is near the ruins that you will find the Sigulda aerial tram and the Krimulda serpentine road – the only object of its kind in the Baltic States.

The organic farm Zemturi is a 30 min drive from Kuldiga. The farm is mainly engaged in breeding rabbits and is designed as a place for children to see, learn about rabbits, birds and other pets. The hosts have created two thematic trails, one for pets and poultry and the other for trees and flowers. Sauna lovers have access to the sauna, also fishing opportunities can be used. Overnight stays with family or a small group of friends are also offered. Excursions for big and small.

Beautiful views are accessible from the Sabile castle hill (steps, a location for relaxation), Upurkalns Hill (no improvements) and Briņķpedvāle, which part of the Pedvāle Open-Air Art Museum. The private museum of antiquities of Zigurds Safranovičš was founded in May 2010. The collection of the museum contains around 50 thousand objects, of which 99% of exhibits have been donated. The oldest and rarest, according to legend, 300-year-old item – Ernst Glick's refrigerator.

The museum's surroundings are a large park of the former Baron Wulf's estate, where it is currently possible to spend the night in tents, as well as available rest areas - canopies, fire places, grills, utensils for cooking, etc., drinking water (from a well), available electricity for telephones, cameras, etc. for charging. Regīna Kalniņa is one of the best known craftswomen in Kurzeme. She weaves blankets and shawls and knits colourful mittens. She also sews Rucava and Nīca folk costumes. Шведский бастион (гора Куцес, гора Юмправас). Средневековое укрепление, защищаемый государством памятник археологии. Памятник находится в деревне Стару, в 450 м на восток от мель- ницы Атспуку и в 70 м на юго-восток от руин Юмправмуйжи. Он обустроен на обширной возвы- шенности, теперь заросшей соснами, на юго-восточном склоне. Здесь, на ограниченной территории, находятся широкий овраг (0,7 – 1,0 м по внешней стороне) и высокий вал (1,0 – 1,5 м по внутренней стороне). Западная часть укреплений разрушена при строительстве дороги к руинам Юмправмуйжи.

Название квадратного здания со стенами толщиной почти в два метра появилось во времена герцога Екаба, так как здесь хранили порох. Возможно, здесь находился колодезный домик, так как грунтовые воды находятся близко к поверхности. Пороховую башню и дворцовую территорию соединяет 12-метровый мост на одной опоре. В настоящее время башню можно осмотреть только снаружи.
