This grand hiking tour is provided for experienced hikers wishing to walk along a large part of the coasts of Latvia and Estonia, gain a detailed impression about the diverse coastal landscape, nature, birds and animals of the Baltic Sea. The Baltic Coastal Hiking Route sometimes runs through sandy beaches, sometimes along sections of beach covered in stones and pebbles. Sometimes the trail goes through coastal forests or stops at a fishermen’s village. There are many floodplain meadows, lagoons and shallow bays on the Estonian side, so sometimes the path goes along coastal trails and roads. In the end section of the route you will feel Estonia’s Nordic nature more. Part of the route runs along a sparsely populated seashore where you can be alone with yourself, but you will also be able to visit the most prominent cities. You will visit both capitals: Rīga and Tallinn. Enjoy the hospitality of the resort towns of Jūrmala, Pärnu and Haapsalu. During the hike, you will also get acquainted with the regions of small ethnic cultures: the Livonians in Latvia and the inhabitants of Kihnu in Estonia.

The best place to look at the restricted area of the Vīķi swamp and the Lielauce lake which is in the middle of that swamp is the Lielauce castle, where a wooden pathway stars. The pathway will lead visitors across the swampy shores of Lake Lielauce and deliver them at a boating area on the open part of the lake. The swamp itself is to the South-east of the lake. The restricted area is there to protect biotopes and species in the area.

В мастерской Malny Wylky можно наблюдать традиционный процесс рождения работ от формирования на ножном гончарном круге до обжигания в дровяной печи в технике окуривания. Осмотр и приобретение работ. Весма пишет маслом и покажет свои работы.

Усадьба Раудондварис (или замок Раудондварис) находится в Раудондварисе, на правом берегу реки Невежис. Дворец вместе с двумя домиками для прислуги (официнами), оранжереей, конюшней и ледником, разбросанными по территории парка площадью 3,8 га, составляет единый усадебный ансамбль. Тут же в 1834 г. был заложен замковый парк, который был реконструирован в ХХ в. Сейчас на территории парка восстановлены зеленые насаждения и клумбы со старинными сортами роз, возвращенными на эту землю. Северная окраина парка переходит в лес. Здесь растут красный клен, сосна Веймутова, липа окрашенная, весной расцветают эдельвейсы. Дорожки парка ведут к ландшафтному заповеднику реки Невежис.

Atrodas ~ 1,5 km ziemeļos no Krāslavas centra, Jāņupītes krastā (ir norāde). Pēc atsevišķiem savrupatradumiem var spriest, ka pilskalns apdzīvots laikā no I g. t. pr. Kristus līdz vēlajam dzelzs laikmetam. Domājams, ka savu nosaukumu tas ieguvis šeit sastopamo mālu dēļ. Nelielas mālu ieguves vietas pilskalna nogāzēs ir redzamas arī šodien. Saglabājies nostāsts, ka grāfs Plāters šeit apraudājis savu sievu, kuru pats neuzticības dēļ licis iemūrēt pazemē.

В основной экспозиции музея «Бартские традиции изготовления и ношения народного костюма в XIX – XX столетии» представлены девичьи, женские и мужские наряды и их разнообразие. Посетители могут принять участие в процессе ткачества и вышивания орнамента на бартских рубахах. Вместе с этнографическим ансамблем «Барта» предлагается участие в образовательных программах «Народные костюмы Барты» и «Поют женщины Барты».

Старинный комплекс поместья Олеру начал создаваться в 17-м веке. Изначально поместье состояло из деревянного господского дома и хозяйственных зданий. Новый центр поместья построили в конце 18-го века в стиле раннего классицизма. После аграрной реформы в жилом здании поместья создали основную школу, а в советское время (до 70-х годов) – вспомогательную школу для отстающих детей. Замок поместья Олеру пострадал в пожаре 2000-го года, после чего были начаты работы по восстановлению. Большой вклад внесло и вносит общество «Поместье Олеру». Господский дом знаменит настенными росписями в стиле раннего классицизма, из которой уникальной считается т.н. «Галерея картин». Рядом с господским домом находится живописный парк. Поместье Олеру знаменито концертами камерной музыки. Недалеко от поместья находится болото Олеру с мостками и смотровой вышкой.

Found at Daugavpils Street 40 in Aglona, this is one of the largest private collections of military exhibits related to World War II in Latvia, with more than 1,000 objects arranged as a museum.  Visitors can see pistols, rifles, machine guns, mines, hand grenades, uniforms, military equipment, etc.  The owner is an enthusiast about history, Valdis Tumovs.
