Der Hof „Jumari“ befindet sich unweit von Valpene, wo einst Krišjānis Barons seine Reise aus Terbata beendete. Der Hof besteht, umgeben von dichtem Wald, seit 1826. Das jetzige Wohnhaus wurde 1904 erbaut. Hier werden Obst und Beeren angebaut (darunter auch Kulturheidelbeeren) sowie Gemüse. Die Besucher können den Hof besichtigen, sich mit den Methoden des ökologischen Landbaus bekannt machen, Kräutertees verkosten sowie andere ländliche Leckereien probieren, den großen Garten in Augenschein nehmen, wo Obstbäume, Beerensträucher und Gemüse gedeihen. Die Wirtin des Hauses fertigt Kräuterkissen an und webt Lesezeichen. „Jumari“ ist als Sehenswürdigkeit auch in Radwege des Bezirks Dundaga einbezogen worden. |

Das Territorium schützt die Küstenwiesen der Lielupe – Flussmündung, die einen sehr seltenen Habitat in Lettland darstellen. Das Schutzgebiet ist am linken Ufer des Flusses, wo eines der größten Gebiete mit wildem Engelwurz zu finden ist. Das ist ein wichtiges Nistgebiet für Vögel. Das Territorium wurde nicht für den Tourismus aufbereitet. Man kann es von der Baltā kāpas (Weiße Düne) aus sehen, die sich am gegenüberliegenden Ufer der Lielupe befindet. Von dort aus kann der Besucher die reizvolle Landschaft sehen, die von der Flussmündung und den sie umgebenden Wiesen gebildet wird.

Der Bauernhof befasst sich mit der Ziegenzucht und Herstellung verschiedener Ziegenmilchprodukte, aus denen Ziegenkäse und andere Produkte hergestellt werden. Auf dem Feld neben dem Bauernhof werden auch Kartoffeln, saftige Erdbeeren und andere Produkte angebaut. In der Sommerlaube können ca. 15-20 Menschen am Tisch sitzen und gemütlich miteinander reden. Es wird eine leichte Kost angeboten, die zu 100% aus den Produkten des Bauernhofs zubereitet wird. |

Die Schreinerwerkstatt bietet verschiedene Exkursionen und Veranstaltungen für Kinder und Erwachsene, es gibt verschiedene thematische Programme. Unter Anleitung der Meister kann mit traditionellen Schreinerwerkzeugen arbeiten und alte Spiele erlernen, zum Abschluss einen kräftigenden Tee genießen und ein romantisches Picknick im Lagerfeuerhaus veranstalten. This route passed along many places where events directly related to the emergence of the Latvian state and to the subsequent freedom battles occurred. The historical route from Rīga to Liepāja via Dobele, Saldus, Skrunda, Durbe and Grobiņa was used as long ago as the 13th century. People in the Kurzeme region of Latvia have always eat sea, river and lake fish, particularly smoked fish. Potted smoked cod, served in a clay pot, is a particular delicacy, as are smelts, sea pike, sprats, herring and salmon, available all year long. Ladies of the house bake tasty rye bread, sourdough bread and tasty carrot buns, and they also cook various porridges from barley. Dairy products, Summer Solstice cheese and “white butter” has an important role. Fresh goat milk cheese is prepared with dills and garlic, and goat milk cheese is also tasty. Menus will include local domestic fowl and meat dishes, including roasts, ribs, sausages, as well as more exotic dishes such as pig’s tongue and bull testicles. Fancy taverns will offer pheasant and wild game with mushrooms, lingonberries, juniper berries and wild herbs. In Kurzeme you will be greeted with delicious pies, sheet cakes, poppy seed pastries and honey cakes, biscuits with poppies and cranberries, dessert from rye bread, lingonberries or cranberries and sweet cream.Blackberry dumplings are popular. More unusual are marmalades made from wild plants such as mountain ash, cranberries and even fir needles. Slake your thirst with aromatic herbal teas with honey and enjoy a mug of beer or some homemade wine. |

The “Lamb Club” is a farm in Mazsalaca, and it is special because the sheep live in a real club! The owners offer the atmosphere of a farm at which the sheep play major roles. Enjoy mutton and sheep milk foods and beverages, feel how comfortable it is to read your favourite while sitting on a fluffy sheepskin, and, in order not to get cold by the campfire in the evening, you can purchase warm woollen socks and woven woollen cloaks. The owners hope that people from Latvia and all around the world will spend more time at the farm, because accommodations involve a new glamping tent that is as close as possible to nature and the healthy rural environment. Don’t lose a lick of the comfort that you are used to in your everyday life! The owners, Ilze and Valters, will be happy to give you a tour during which they talk about herding sheep. If you contact them in advance, they will prepare a tasty mutton meal for you. The tour can also be supplemented with various activities such as games, quizzes and creative workshops at which sheep wool is utilised. |

This is the largest rock in the Baltic States and, according to some sources, in all of the segment of Northern Europe which was affected by the last Ice Age. Its size is 930 m3! The rock is 7.5 m high, 16.5 m long and 14 m high, with a circumference of 48.5 m. The rock resembles a huge pebble from a distance, and it is on the sandy and rocky beach. Depending on the season, it can be out in the water. The Ice Age carried the rock to its current location from the southern shore of Finland. It is made of pegmatite.

Die Kirche befindet sichim Zentrum von Nereta, in der Rīgas Straße 2. Sie wird als eines der ältesten Gotteshäuser (Barock mit Merkmalen der späten Gotik) der Region Zemgale angesehen. Die Kirche wurde von 1584 bis 1593 auf der Initiative des Grafen Wilhelm von Effern gebaut (im Jahr 1679 umgebaut). In der Kirche befinden sich aus Stein gemeißelte Grabstein-Reliefs, die am Ende des 16. Jh. hergestellt und Wilhelm von Effern und Georg von Effern gewidmet sind. (Der Grabstein von Georg von Effern ist das hervorragendste Kunstwerk des frühen nördlichen Manierismus in Lettland.) Das Altargemälde (1863) hat P. Handlers geschaffen, die Orgel (1893) hat R. Knaufs gebaut, aber die Glasmalereien (1900) hat E. Baijermans gebildet, die Deckenlaternen sind aus dem 17. und 19. Jh. Die Besucher der Kirche können aus dem 38,6 Meter hohen und eigenartigen achteckigen Kirchenturm die Landschaft von Nereta und der näheren Umgebung besichtigen. |

Rīgas - Daugavpils šosejas (A 6) 157. kilometrā skats jāpavērš Daugavas (rietumu) virzienā, kur cauri koku alejai klajā laukā 50 m attālumā no ceļa iegūlis Vaiķu akmens (7 m garš, 4,7 m plats un 1,7 m augsts). Akmens, kura tilpumu vērtē ~ 45 m³, pēc formas atgādina plakanu galdu. Nostāsti vēsta, ka to šeit atnesis velns. Kā jau šādiem akmeņiem „pienākas”, stāsta, ka te pusdienojis gan Krievijas cars Pēteris I, gan pats Napoleons. |
