Pļaviņās, pie Daugavas ielas, Daugavas krastā uz laukakmeņiem novietots plosta modelis ar stendu (2011. gads, biedrība „Kopsolis”), kur izlasāms stāsts ar plostnieka atmiņām un aplūkojamas vēsturiskās plostnieku fotogrāfijas. Daugavas posms starp Pļaviņām un Koknesi bija visgrūtāk pārvaramais plostnieku šķērslis ar krācēm un līdz 20 m augstiem, klinšainiem upes krastiem. |

Located in the south-eastern part of Piedruja and on the banks of the Daugava River, the rock can be accessed via the local path or a local land road. The rock was sculpted by Vilnis Titāns, who engraved the name of the Daugava River in seven languages – Latvian, Livonian, Estonian, Polish, Russian, German and Finnish. Opposite the rock is Druja, which is in Belarus, as well as a large island that splits the river in two. A temporary permit is needed to visit Piedruja. |

This restricted area was established to protect a high-type swamp, a swampy forest and a series of rare birds. The Niedrāji-Pilka swamp can be crossed with dry feet while enjoying almost virginal nature. This is possible on the narrow-gauge railroad embankment which runs through the swamp for three to four kilometres from the North-east to the South-west, or on the well-appointed circular wood pathway which is on the eastern size of the embankment.

This lighthouse is in Ovīši, which is an ancient Livonian village. The 38-metre lighthouse on Cape Ovīši was built in 1814 and modernised in 1860, and it is the oldest functioning lighthouse in Latvia today. Visitors will get a great view of the shores of the Baltic Sea and the forests which cover them. The lighthouse also offers an exhibition devoted to the history of lighthouses in Latvia.

This 368 metre structure is the highest television tower in the European Union. Its viewing area, which is at a height of 97 metres, is the highest publicly available viewing area in Latvia. The location offers a fantastic view of Rīga and Old Rīga to Pārdaugava, the Bay of Rīga and Sigulda – a radius of at least 50 kilometres.

Here you will learn about home-based manufacturers, farms, companies and others in Kurzeme that produce various dairy products such as milk, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheese, ice cream, etc. Begin in Tukums, which offers lots of interesting foods and beverages. Then cross the ancient Abava River valley, which is one of the most beautiful river valleys in Latvia. The route leads to Wine Hill in Sabile and then Talsi, the “city of nine hillocks.” Further on you will find Dundaga and its legendary castle, pass through large and lonely forests on your way to Ventspils, and then continue along the shore of the Baltic sea to Medze. From there, travel back into the centre of Kurzeme, through Aizpute and Kazdanga, which is known for its own castle. Visit Latvia’s first shiitake mushroom farm at Garīkas, the Milk Estate and the Milk Museum. Further on will be Saldus with its tasty treats, then Džūkste, and then back to Tukums, where we started. |

Schoolchildren up to the 6th grade are offered tours during which they can learn about animals, feed them and pet them. Older students will learn about the evolution and biology of horses, as well as about work with horses. Easy hikes are offered to tourists. |

This cycling route will take you from Riga along the West coast of the Baltic Sea of Latvia and Lithuania. On the way the route passes the sea resort Jurmala with 19th century wooden archicture, the picturesque Abava river valley, geologicaly interesting steep banks of Jūrkalne, historically exiting city of Liepaja with great ambience and charming Kuldiga with the widest waterfall in Europe. In Lithuania the route goes through Palanga where Amber Museum is located and culminates at the National Park of the Curonian Spit with 60m high sand dune. |

The artist has masterfully integrated amber, bone and animal horn in his dishware. He also engraves spoons with ethnographic signs. You can commission or purchase products from the master craftsman, who also restores wooden furniture. |
