Der Meteoriteneinschlag auf Insel Saaremaa liegt ungefähr 7500-7600 Jahre zurück und verursachte einen Krater von 110 m Durchmesser und 22 m Tiefe und 8 weiter kleine Krater. In der Rangliste der Riesenkrater der Welt liegt der Kaali Krater an achter Stelle. Das Kaali Meteoritenkraterfeld auf Saaremaa ist das seltenste Naturdenkmal Estlands und gleichzeitig das eindrucksvollste Kraterfeld in Eurasien. Auf dem Kraterfeld befindet sich das Besucherzentrum von Kaali samt dem Museum für Meteoritik und Kalkstein, einem Konferenzsaal und dem Hotel. Im Museum sind echte Meteoritenstücke ausgestellt. Im Hotel sind kompfortable Zimmer, nebenan befindet sich historisches Wirtshaus Kaali.

The Boulder of Subinaite can be found in Sakstagala rural municipality opposite Vaļenieku House that is on the left side of the river Rēzekne. The base of the boulder is below the river level; it is 5,2 m long, 4,4 m wide, it rises about 1,6 m above the water level, about 2,5 m below the water level, capacity 26 m3. Reddish surface is heavily eroded and full of moss. Protected since 1977.

In the recreation complex it is possible to fish in the carp pond, as well as to swim and sunbathe on the landscaped beach on the loungers. There is a playground for children. It is also possible to organize banquets, seminars and other events. There is also a sauna with a fireplace hall for relaxation for up to 20 people.

There are four campsites for accommodation, located above the water on piles. All cottages are heated, with separate shower and toilet, TV and wi-fi internet. Two of them have a kitchen, and one has a fireplace. Each cottage has three or four beds. Tents and camper sites are also available, and tents can be rented on site.

Pils un Kuģinieku ielas krustojumā (Pils iela 40) paceļas 1905. g. celtais Vulfsona trīsstāvu īres nams, ko var pazīt pēc neobarokālā stila torņa. Netālu esošo ēku Pils ielā 31 un 38 (Mūzikas skola) fasādes jau ir uzskatāmas par raksturīgiem jūgendstila paraugiem. Savukārt, ēku Kuģinieku ielā 2 uzskata par vienu no skaistākajiem Latvijas jūgendstila namiem ārpus Latvijas galvaspilsētas. Uzmanība jāpievērš arī ēkām Pils ielā 54 un 60.

Ļoļi Devil’s Footprint is situated in Mākoņkalns rural territory in a small forest lawn several meters from the ditch, which is a borderline of the Rēzekne and Krāslava districts. It is about 1,9 m high truncated cone, the base perimeter 1,8 m. According to the legend, the boulder had a curvy of the horseshoe prints. Now it’s shapeless. For the first time the stone as a geological monument was established in the 1930s. It was in Andrupene rural territory.

Kīdevas muiža rakstos ir minēta 1614. g., taču pašreiz redzamā divstāvu kungu māja, ir celta 19. gs. beigās. Ēkas sienas ir klātas ar koka šķindeļiem, kas viens otru pārklāj kā zivs zvīņas. Šāds kungu mājas sienu pārklājums Igaunijas mērogā ir unikāls. Laikā no 1919. – 1951. g. tajā atradās skola. Blakus muižai atrodas neliels parks. Diemžēl turpat pusgadsimtu ilgās pamestības rezultātā ēkas atrodas ļoti kritiskā stāvoklī. Tas ir arī pietiekams apmeklējuma iemesls.

After a big storm in 2005, the nature trail of the Randu meadows was restored. It is about 4 km long, and there is a bird-watching tower which offers a fine view of unique shoreline meadows with small lagoons and areas of reeds. It is a fine place to watch migrating birds. This is part of the Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve (ZBR).

Baltic States are lucky to have plenty of untouched natural territories. During the Cambrian, Silurian and Devonian eras, the territory of the current Baltic States was often covered by seawater, which is why there are places where lots of geological evidence can be found about these periods in history.  These are manifested not just in fossils and various geological objects, but also in the unique landscape. For example, The Gauja River basin is an outstanding locations for Devonian cliffs and caves. Other interesting elements of the terrain relate to the development of the Baltic Sea in the past – the Baltic Ice Sea and the Littorine Sea. That is well presented at he landscape of hillocks and valleys in the Slītere National Park. Many forests  and bogs have remained virtually untouched as biotopes here.  The Ķemeri, Slītere national parks were all established to protect wetlands. Rivers in the Baltic States have not been straightened and dense areas of buildings are not common.  There are two “lands of lakes” in the Baltic States – Latgale and Augštaitija. The Baltic States are at the crossroads of the living areas of many different plants and animals, and that is why “northern,” “southern,” “western” and “eastern” species can all be found here. Some national parks have been established to protect distinctive local cultural heritage.

Die Bauarbeiten leitete von 1801-1804 Baumeister Friedrich Veit aus Cēsis. Im Zentrum des Altars des Gotteshauses befindet sich das Gemälde „Christus am Kreuze“ (2. Hälfte des 19. Jh.). Die Glocke wurde 1895 gegossen, die Orgel 1914 gebaut. Vor dem Eingang der Kirche erhebt sich ein 1930 eingeweihtes Denkmal  für die im 1. Weltkrieg und im lettischen Freiheitskampf gefallenen Krieger (Bildhauer Kārlis Zāle, Architekt Aleksandrs Birznieks). Unlängst wurden Renovierungsarbeiten an der Fassade und im Innenraum abgeschlossen.

Die Kirche befindet sich im Westen von Viesīte – an der Seite der Kaļķu Straße, auf dem sogenannten Hügel Vales kalniņš (eine vom Gletscher gebildete Hügelreihe). Es ist interessant, dass an diesem Ort im Jahr 1919 die Verteidiger von Viesīte die Bermondt-Armee geschlagen haben. Der Grundstein der Kirche wurde am 15. August 1937 (am Gedenktag der Helden) gelegt, im Jahr 1939 wurde die Kirche eingeweiht, aber im Jahr 1994 – erneuert. Den Bau des Gotteshauses hat der Professor Pauls Stradiņš unterstützt. In dem Gotteshaus befindet sich das von Ligita Caune geschaffene Altargemälde. Östlich von der Kirche – am Fuße des Hügels Vales kalniņš – ist ein Denkmal aufgestellt, der dem Professoren Pauls Stradiņš gewidmet ist.
