Маршрут, для прохождения которого не требуется специальная подготовка, если его проходить летом. Абава – это река с самой впечатляющей древней долиной в Курземе. Она есть и остается «классикой» Курземе. На Абаве несколько выраженных стремнин, обычно в местах, где в ее русле и по берегам появляются небольшие обнажения доломитовых пород. На участке между Веги и Рендой падение реки уменьшается и она становится более спокойной.
Абава на участке от Кандавы до Сабиле является одной из редких рек Латвии, на берегах которых доступен очень многообразный спектр услуг, связанных с туризмом. Перед тем, как сесть в лодку, по меньшей мере несколько часов стоит посвятить осмотру Кандавы.

The castle was built during the first half of the 19th century in Tudor Neo-Gothic forms.  The first owner of the castle was Baron Johann Gottlieb von Wolff.  During the 1870s and 1880s it was rebuilt in the style of French Neo-Renaissance.  The castle was burned down during the 1905 Revolution, but it was restored with certain elements of Art Nouveau forms.  Tours are available of the interior of the building.

Östlich der Straße Ezermuiža-Dūmele liegt das Seebett des alten Dieviņezers-Sees. Er war einer der größten Seen in Kurland:7,5 km lang und 1,6 km breit. Im Jahr 1838 wurde ein Kanal gegraben, wodurch der jetzige Fluss Melnsilupe und das Wasser aus dem See ins Meer abgeleitet wurden, um fruchtbares Ackerland zu bekommen. Die Einwohner von Ezermuiža waren bereits seit der Herrschaft von Baronen mit der Forstwirtschaft und Forstnutzung verbunden. Dūmele und Košrags werden mit einer einsamen Waldstraße, Apakšceļs (Untere Straße) genannt, verbunden, an der die Fahrradroute verläuft. In Dūmele befindet sich das Ferienhaus „Ziedkalni“.

The Mežotne castle hill is on the left bank of the Lielupe River and opposite the Mežotne Castle. This was one of the largest Semigalian fortified castle hills during the 9th to the 13th century, and an ancient town alongside the hill covered 13 ha of land. The castle hill has been improved. A pontoon bridge across the Lielupe allows hikers and bikers to reach the castle (between May and October). Vīna Hill is approximately 500 m to the South of the castle hill, and a wooden pathway leads to it.
