Eine professionelle landwirtschaftliche Tour, auf der man moderne und technologisch entwickelte herstellende Wirtschaften kennenlernen kann. Tag zum Kennenlernen mit der Besichtigung von Riga (UNESCO Kulturerbe) – der Hauptstadt Lettlands, sowie des Zentralmarktes (einer der größten Märkte des geschlossenen Typs in Europa). Am nächsten Tag bieten wir ein Treffen mit Fachleuten des Ministeriums für Landwirtschaft der Republik Lettland und den Vertretern der nicht staatlichen Organisationen für Landwirtschaft an. Wir fahren zu einem ökologischen Polygon für Haushaltsabfälle, das eine auch in Europa anerkannte Initiative ist, wo die Wärme, die der Block für Abfälle erzeugt, als Heizung für Treibhäuser verwendet wird, in denen ideale Umstände für landwirtschaftliche Erzeugung (Blumen und Tomaten) herrschen. Wir besuchen innovative Wirtschaften, wo Birkensäfte gewonnen und aus denen verschiedene Produkte hergestellt werden: roter und halbsüßer Wein und der schaumende Wein aus Bio-Birkensäften, Birkensäfte, Brausen und Sirupe. Der nächste Morgen beginnt mit der Besichtigung einer Wirtschaft, wo qualitative Gemüse und Kartoffeln angebaut werden. Hier werden erfolgreich die Fragen der Aufbewahrung, des Verkaufs und der Logistik gelöst. Unterwegs besichtigen wir die Ruinen der Burg von Koknese, die sich am Ufer des lettischen Schicksalsflusses Daugava befinden. In der Tour haben wir auch eine Bauernwirtschaft eingeschlossen, wo Hanf angebaut wird und aus Hanf Lebensmittel hergestellt werden. Übernachtung ist in einem Komplex eines Gutshofes geplant, der zu einer Unterkunft und einem Spa-Komplex umgebaut ist. Am nächsten Morgen besuchen wir eine der neuesten Bierbrauereien in Lettland. Führung und Verkostungen. Um Mittag fahren wir zu einer Wirtschaft, wo in Wintermonaten dank einer Biomasse-Kraft-Wärme-Kopplungsanlage Energie erzeugt wird und Treibhäuser beheizt werden. Am Abend: Rückkehr in Riga.

Nature restricted area includes eastern side of the lake with Lanupe River and North-east and South-east coastal areas. Restricted area has been established for protection of birds and floodplain meadows of the lake. To see the nature restricted area visitors do not have to enter it. There are great view points with wind generators of Grobina on the background from the road Vecpils – Rava – Aistere. Coastal areas which are not included in the restricted area are perfectly suitable for bird watching. There is located the smallest city by its population in Latvia to the South from the lake.

Im Birkenhof wird sehr schmackhaftes Roggen- und Weizenbrot in alter Tradition gebacken. Den besonderen Geschmack gewinnt das Brot durch das Backen im über 70 Jahre alten Backofen. Brot kann man bestellen oder nach vorheriger Vereinbarung auch selbst backen.

1.2 km to the south of the centre of Ģipka and on the side of the Jūrmala-Kolka road (P131), this church makes it hard to believe that the rock church was built very recently – after 1992, because it was burned down during the Soviet occupation in 1979.  Ironically, the Dundaga forestry fire safety post was housed in the steeple of the church after World War II.  The ornate altar and organ were destroyed in the fire, but the altar painting, “Christ on the Cross,” was saved.  The church is now once again open for business.

The excessively damp forests at this place include the Vēršupīte River bog, and this is one of the most diverse biotopes in Latvia in terms of the number of species that can be found here.  The fact that the area is regularly flooded is shown by the fat roots of black alders – indeed, the place looks like a stand of mangroves.  The wooden pathway that is the Dumbrāju trail starts at the Forest House for those who wish to examine the bog.  The most impressive views are seen during spring floods or rainy seasons at other times of the year.  The little river breaks out of its bed and floods a large territory.  The Lake Sloka hiking trail is another place where you can study the Vēršupīte bog.  The circular trail is 3 km long, and its beginning is at the Lake Sloka bird watching tower.

On the left bank of the Gauja River, opposite the Piķene cliff is the mighty Beite cliff which is split by a deep ravine. On the left side there is Ķeizarskats (Emperor's View), which is approximately 67 metres above the level of the Gauja and offers a fine view of Krimulda and the Turaida Castle. The viewing place was installed in 1862, when Russian Tsar Alexander II visited Sigulda. On the right side of the ravine is the mighty wooden Ķeizarkrēsls (Emperor's Chair). To get there, you have to cross the ravine (there are wooden stairs and a forest trail). You can go around it on Laurenču, Kalna and Gulbju streets.
