Die Flüsse Salaca und Svētupe sind zu den einzigen Orten auf der Welt ernannt, wo man beim industriellen Fischfang der Neunaugen immer noch eine mehr als 150 Jahre alte Methode benutzt: den Fischzaun (einen über den Fluss gebauten Steg mit Fischreusen, insgesamt drei Fischzäune). Unter der Leitung der örtlichen Fischer kann man die Fischzäune besichtigen, den Fischfang beobachten und Vorort gegrillte Neunaugen probieren. |

The “Lamb Club” is a farm in Mazsalaca, and it is special because the sheep live in a real club! The owners offer the atmosphere of a farm at which the sheep play major roles. Enjoy mutton and sheep milk foods and beverages, feel how comfortable it is to read your favourite while sitting on a fluffy sheepskin, and, in order not to get cold by the campfire in the evening, you can purchase warm woollen socks and woven woollen cloaks. The owners hope that people from Latvia and all around the world will spend more time at the farm, because accommodations involve a new glamping tent that is as close as possible to nature and the healthy rural environment. Don’t lose a lick of the comfort that you are used to in your everyday life! The owners, Ilze and Valters, will be happy to give you a tour during which they talk about herding sheep. If you contact them in advance, they will prepare a tasty mutton meal for you. The tour can also be supplemented with various activities such as games, quizzes and creative workshops at which sheep wool is utilised. |

Seit der Mitte des vorigen Jahrhunderts wurde in der Seda – Heide Torf abgebaut, trotzdem bleibt es eins der wichtigsten NATURA 2000 Territorien in Lettland mit einer grossen Vielfalt an Landschaften, Biotopen und Biologie – insbesondere Vögel. Dies ist ein guter Ort zur Vogelbeobachtung während der Vogelzugsaison, ein Beobachtungsturm wurde zu diesem Zweck am Sumpf errichtet.

Dort befindet sich ein kleines Gebiet auf der Westseite des Sees Būšnieks, das eingerichtet wurde, um den Sumpfbiotop und die seltenen Pflanzen zu schützen. Gut ausgestattete Erholungseinrichtungen befinden sich am gegenüberliegenden Ufer des Sees.

Atrodas Grobiņas centrā, Dzērves laukuma malā. Pirmā baznīca Grobiņa bija celta jau ap 1560. g., bet nākamā – 1596. g. celtā iznīcināta 1659. g. zviedru iebrukuma laikā. Pēc Kurzemes un Zemgales hercoga Jēkaba Ketlera iniciatīvas 1664. g. tiek uzcelts jauns dievnams, ko atjauno 1892. gadā. Tas dedzis 2. pasaules kara laikā, bet vēlāk atkal atjaunots. Šobrīd notiek altāra restaurācijas darbi. |

Die Bäckerin bäckt nach traditionellen Rezepten Brot und Sklandrausis auf Ahornblättern. Die Sklandrausis bestehen aus Roggenmehl, Kartoffeln und Möhren. In der Bäckerei wird der Prozess der Fertigung von Brot und Sklandrausis vorgeführt, woran anschließend die Besucher die frischen Erzeugnisse verkosten und kaufen können. Daneben werden traditionelle Trachten der Suiti, Spiele und Lieder gezeigt. |

Atrodas Raiņa ielā 18. Baznīca celta 1911. - 1912. g. pēc Stukmaņu muižas nomnieka barona R. Noldes iniciatīvas. 1. pasaules karā cietušo baznīcu atjaunoja un no jauna iesvētīja 1921. g. Baznīcā apskatāma altārglezna “Kristus augšāmcelšanās”. Dievnams tāpat kā daudzas citas pilsētas ēkas ir būvētas no apkaimē sastopamā izejmateriāla – dolomīta. Interesanti, ka tornis būvēts ēkas vienā malā – asimetriski. |

The DUDU Nests open-air smithy will answer all of your questions. The blacksmith will teach you all about his profession, talking about the tools and materials that are necessary, the relevant traditions and the everyday work of blacksmiths today. You can forge your own nail to test the difficulty of the work. The blacksmith will happily attend your event with his open-air forge. This is perfect for students, smaller children, wedding guests or individual visitors.

From the highest point in the Alūksne highlands, you will see an unusually beautiful view of the surrounding forested hillocks and the small areas of meadows and farmland. Sadly, there are no improvements to the location, which can be difficult to access. It is on private property.
