Салаца с точки зрения водного туризма является интересной рекой, на которой даже в период маловодья будут радовать береговые ландшафты и объекты осмотра, а также многообразие самой реки.  Для похода на лодках самыми привлекетельными будут окрестности Мазсалацы и участок Мерниеки – Вецсалаца, где на карте видны топонимы, связанные с заколами. Заколы (лат. tacis) – бывшие места ловли миноги – это та уникальность, характерная только для Салацы на участке реки ниже впадения реки Иге. В наши дни о прежнем существовании заколов свидетельствуют топонимы –  Гедерту тацис, Жвигулю тацис и др. Заколы для миног строили в местах, где река самая мелкая, самая узкая, более богата островами и стремнинами, поэтому топоним «тацис» означает также самые интересные обстоятельства для сплава. Сами заколы сохранились только в нижнем течении реки у Салацгривы. Ночлег в основном на стоянках для водных туристов (в палатках). Маршрут проходит по территории Северовидземского биосферного заповедника.

The aerial tram across the Gauja is the only vehicle of its type in the Baltic States. It was installed in 1969 with the help of engineers from Georgia. The crossing is 1060 m long, and the cable which crosses the river is just one cable without any supports. The tram rides about 40 metres above the river, and it offers an outstanding look at the local landscapes. During the evening, the tram is used by Bungee jumpers.

Seda is one of the most unusual towns in Latvia. It began its life as a housing area for people from the local peat moss factory, and that happened in the 1950s and 1960s. This is a “vivid” example of Soviet architecture, with a central square (complete with a monument to the Leader) and streets radiating from it. Der Flugplatz von Rumbula wurde als ein Militärflugplatz nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg aufgebaut. Der Flugplatz wurde am Ufer von Fluss Daugava aufgebaut an dem Ort, wo sich viele Einzelhöfe befindeten. Nach dem der Flugplatz von Spilve seine Tätigkeit eingestellt hatte, wurden nach Rumbula die Flugapparaten der Zivilluftfahrt und nach Flughafen von Riga – die Technik der Kriegsluftfahrt versetzt. Heutzutage wird der Name „Rumbula” meistens mit dem Autohandelsplatz assoziiert. Ein Teil des Autoplatzes befindet sich im Territorium des ehemaligen Flugplatzes. „Ein Erbe” in gewisser Art ist die Verschmutzung von den Tanken des Brennstoffes des ehemaligen Flugplatzes, wo das Petroleum aufbewahrt wurde. Im Territorium des Flugplatzes werden die Flüge mit Paraplanen durchgeführt.
