The steep shores of Jūrkalne are one of the most popular tourist destinations in Kurzeme.  The shores are up to 20 m high, washed by the waves and mostly made of sand and narrow bands of pebbles and stones.  Opposite the centre of Jūrkalne is a viewing platform and a set of stairs that lead to the sea.  The shore continues in the direction of Pāvilosta and Ventspils.

In Vecslabada, there is a peninsula among Lake Dziļezers, Lake Audzeļi, and Lake Istra. From the highest point on the peninsula, you will see a truly unusual view of the land of the blue lakes – lake islands, as well as the village of Vecslabada with its church towers. The Lake Istra nature reserve is nearby.

Dundagas pili ieskauj parks, kura pirmsākumi ir meklējami jau 17. gs. Tam cauri tek Pāces upīte, kuras uzdambējums veido Dundagas dīķi. Tajā atrodas senatnē (vēl pirms pils būvniecības) mākslīgi veidota sala - Kalnadārza pilskalns. Tam iepretim (dīķa austrumu krastā) atrodas Dundagas pilskalns. Parkā joprojām zaļo (daži lielākie zari ir nolūzuši) t.s. “Rubļa ozols”, kura attēls bija uz 1919. g. izdotās Latvijas simts rubļu naudaszīmes. Parkā uzcelta estrāde.

Teritorija, kas aptuveni 20 km garumā „piekļāvusies” abiem Aiviekstes upes krastiem. Dabas parka galvenā vērtība ir palieņu pļavas (un citi pļavu biotopi), kas ir ļoti nozīmīga daudzu augu un dzīvnieku (īpaši – putnu) sugu dzīves vieta. Ūdenstūristiem, kas laivo pa Aivieksti, nakšņošana ir jāplāno tikai šim mērķim paredzētās vietās!

The memorial site with a 1936 monument produced by the sculptor Kārlis Zāle is located in Smārde near the Smārde-Tukums road.  It commemorates 38 soldiers who fell during World War I.  Between 1915 and 1917, the front line was near Smārde.  Many men were killed, and they were buried at the local swamp.  It was only after the war that they were reburied in Smārde, Kūdra, Ķemeri, and Sloka.

This is a miniature zoo next to a tributary of the Ogre River, and most of it is taken up by a paddock of rabbits. Children just love the animals, as well as the hutches that were designed on the basis of the architecture of estates and castles. There are also goats, pigs, geese, peacocks, mandarin ducks and pearl hens. Children can help in feeding the animals.

From the historical and architectural perspective, this is an interesting monument to urban construction between the 17th and 19th centuries.  Old Liepāja is in the area of the old market and Kuršu Square, where merchants sold their wares beginning in the 1560s.  Until 1792, Kuršu Square was also where punishments were implemented.  The current Pētertirgus pavilion was installed alongside the square in 1910.  A map shows that the network of streets has partly preserved the chaos of street planning that was typical in Medieval towns.

Meklējama pilsētas centrā - Tirgus laukumā 11. Dievnams uzcelts 1886. g. Ēkā atrodas vairāki nozīmīgi mākslas pieminekļi – gleznas, krucifikss (18. gs.) u.c. Baznīcas dārzā apskatāma skulptūra “Latgales māte” (tēlnieks B. Buls) un piemineklis politiski represēto piemiņai (tēlniece V. Dzintare). Baznīca ir apskatāma arī no iekšpuses.

Insel Piirissaare im Peipussee hat eine Fläche von 7,5 km². Die Inselbewohner sind grossenteils ussische Altgläubige. Die alte Kultur ist während Jahrhunderten gut erhalten geblieben. Die Hauptbeschäftigung der Inselbewohner ist Fischfang. Auf den Feldern wird Gemüse, hauptsächlich Zwiebel angebaut.
Die ganze Insel ist heute Naturschutzgebiet, hier leben seltene Vogelarten und Amphibien und wachsen mehrere seltene Pflanzen. Schiffsverbindung mit Piirissaare gibt es vom Hafen Laaksaare mit der Fähre "Koidula" (+372 527 2974, www.veeteed.com).

Das Wirtshaus befindet sich an der Küste und von seiner Sommerterrasse bietet sich eine Aussicht über die Strandwiesen und Sandbänke, die kleine Strände genannt werden. Das Wirtshaus arbeitet mit lokalen Bauern und Fischern zusammen.
