While you are in Obinitsa Seto Museum you can learn more about the lifestyle and culture of Setomaa's people. In the museum you can see a lot of items that are very important to their culture, for example the fine handicraft of the Seto women. Also since 2015 here you can also learn about other Finno-Ugric nations. There is a possibility to shop in the souvenir shop.

Boaters along the Gauja will see the Velnala cliffs, which are the last mighty wall along the banks of the Gauja River valley – approximately 15 m high. From the opposite shore of the river, where there are leisure facilities, once can spot the Krimulda Devil’s cave, which is in the centre of the cliff, is some 19 m deep, and is 4.7 m high. There were once wooden structures which allowed people to visit the cave, but that stopped in 1980 for safety reasons. If you head toward Turaida along the lower part of the basic Gauja River shoreline from the Velnala cliffs, then, particularly when the trees are bare, you will see the mighty sandstone Piķene cliff. At its foot is the Piķene beaver trail, which is approximately 1 km long. On quiet evenings, you may well spot a beaver at work. Along the path you will see the Small Devil’s cave (5 m deep) with the Wisdom Stream that flows out of it. The Aunapiere cave is almost as deep. Between the cliff and the Gauja are several small rivulets which are of enormous importance in preserving the diversity of the surrounding environment.

The farm on the banks of the River Navesti is Estonia's largest company engaged in the cultivation and processing of organic medicinal herbs. The farm has an education and health path of medicinal herbs, open from May to September.

Herb presentations are held there - first on the field and then in the tea house. There is also a 13-metre viewing tower by the river from which you can get a good overview of the lands of the farm.

Reinis Kaudzīte, co-author of the first Latvian novel “Times of the Land-Surveyors” (“Mērnieku laiki”) stayed in Pēterupe Village from 1913. 
In 1913 R. Kaudzīte bought a small property (currently No. 17 School Street), where he spent the last years of his life along with the lady of the house Karlīna Damroze. After the death of R. Kaudzīte, Karlīne – the well-known and respected midwife – continued to run the household. During Soviet times, the house was converted into a residential building. The neighbouring garden-house also acquired the status of a one-room flat, which in 11 August 1991 was turned into the Public Museum of Saulkrasti History. In 2008 the basic idea of the museum was changed and the house underwent redecoration. Now the museum is dedicated to the life of Reinis Kaudzīte in Pēterupe. The exhibition consists of furniture, crockery, household items, tools, photographs and other items of the early 20th century contributed by Saulkrasti residents.

Das Dorf  befindet sich 7km nördlich des Zentrums von Vecpiebalga. Hier kann man für die Gegend typische Landhöfe und Handwerkerhäuser des 19.Jh.  mit Arbeitsgeräten und Gegenständen des täglichen Lebens besichtigen, auch eine kürzlich erneuerte Windmühle. Im Dorf leben auch heute noch einige Bewohner. Es empfiehlt sich, das Museum mit einem ortskundigen Führer zu besuchen.

Das Projekt für das Arboretum begann 1996, als die Dendrologen des botanischen Gartens Salaspilis Raimonds Cinovskis und Ināra Bondare sowie Vertreter der Kommune Rucava übereinkamen, eine Versuchsplantage am Hügel des Gutes Rucava anzulegen. 1998 wurden die ersten Bäumchen gepflanzt. Weiter ging es mit Grünanlagen im Zentrum von Rucava und an der örtlichen Grundschule. Jedes Jahr wird die Plantage mit neuen und exotischen Pflanzen aus der ganzen Welt erweitert. Schon traditionell findet jährlich im Mai, wenn die Rhododendren und Magnolien in voller Blüte stehen, ein Gartenfest statt.

Befindet sich am rechten Daugavaufer, etwa einen halben Kilometer oberhalb des Landwirtschaftlichen Instituts von Skrīveri. An dieser Stelle spaltet der tiefe Graben des Baches Ašķere das steile Ufer des Daugavatals. Der Burghügel war bereits im 1. Jahrtausend v. Chr. bewohnt, hier gab es Funde, die auf Lettgalen und Liven hinweisen. Im 13. Jh. erhob sich auf dem Hügel eine steinerne Burg, die im 17.Jh. zerstört wurde. Von deren Existenz ist heute nichts mehr zu sehen. Vom Burghügel, der auch als Krähenhügel (Kraukļu kalni) bezeichnet wird, bietet sich eine der schönsten Ansichten auf den Mittelteil der Daugava. Von hier aus (in Richtung Riga) lässt sich die Stelle einer alten Kirche erkennen (ein gepflegter Platz mit einem weissen Kreuz). Am Ufer des Ašķeres Baches entlang ist ein Wanderweg eingerichtet. Die gesamte Umgebung des Berghügels ist gepflegt, insgesamt sind vier Wanderwege eingerichtet, der längste davon ist der Daugava-Pfad  (10km).

Die Schänke befindet sich am Rande der Straße Murjani – Limbazi (P9). Sie ist auf den Fundamenten der Mühle des Landgutes gebaut worden, dabei wurde das Mühlenrad erhalten. Die Schänke arbeitet mit den lokalen Bauern zusammen.

Lettische Küche: Steinpilzsuppe, Gerstengrütze mit Fleisch, Gerstenfladen, Grützwurst mit Preiselbeersoße, dünne Pfannkuchen mit Marmelade, Kartoffelpfannkuchen, gebratene Flunder oder gebratener Zander, geschichtetes Roggenbrot-Dessert.

Das besondere Gericht: Geschmortes Kaninchen und gefülltes Truthahnfilet.
