The “Rozītes” rose garden is found in the Sēme Parish in Kurzeme, and it covers a bit less than 3 hectares. There are more than 3,000 rose plants in the garden with 300 different varieties. There are also perennials and rare trees in the garden. Visitors will enjoy three lovely ponds which have fish in them, but they are meant more for beauty and relaxation. You can watch the fish from the terrace, walk across a flower island, and go to our amphitheatre to listen to relaxing music. On a hot summer day, visit the “water rock” to hear the bubbling sound of the surrounding water. Daila and Bruno Trubiņš will be happy to give you a tour of the garden and tell you all about the plants and how to care for them. You can purchase rose and perennial plants. Each June we organise a Rose Festival with an extensive programme for adults and children alike. Visitors are welcome to taste rose jam and drinks made of rose petals. We can host seminars, concerts, weddings and photo sessions. The garden is open from May until the end of September, and we particularly welcome visitors when the flowers are in full bloom. The Berghof Milk Estate with saunas. The weekend sauna at the estate offers a country sauna and the holiest type of traditional sauna – the black rock sauna. This is a ritual which takes several hours, with handmade switches, massages, scrubs, rinsing and herbal teas from Sieksāte. The mansion of the estate has a wet sauna, a steam sauna, a basin with a stream and a fireplace. The Rožu Saloon off ers delicious dining, and the Milk Spa allows you to relax in milk baths. An der Kornkammer (101 Jahre alt) sind alte Werkzeuge der Hanffaserbearbeitung ausgestellt. Hier kann man leckere Produkte verkosten und kaufen, sowie eine spannende Reise in die Geschichte der Hanfzüchtung unternehmen. Der gewöhnliche Hanf ist eine alte Kulturpflanze in Lettland, die hier seit mehr als 1000 Jahren angebaut wird. Die Betriebsstätte befindet sich auf halbem Weg zwischen Rauna und Smiltene. Die Besucher können die Betriebsräume in einem Keller besichtigen, wo der sprudelnde Birkensaft produziert und gelagert wird. Dabei wird über den Birkensaft erzählt und Videos zur Gewinnung von Säften im Frühjahr gezeigt. Verkostung von Birkensaft, sprudelnden Getränken und Sirup aus Birkensaft. Es wird auch Löwenzahnwein angeboten. Die Produktion von Birzī hat ein Bio-Zertifikat. |

Abgunste Manor is an 18th-century Baroque-style building, located a 25-minute drive from Jelgava. Guests are invited to enjoy stories from the manor’s hosts and participate in guided tours. Seit 1723 gehörte das Landgut dem Rigaer Pfarrer Depkin und das Landgut hat seinen Namen erhalten. Ein zweistöckiges Holzwohngebäude des Landgutes (19.Jahrhundert) in den Formen des Klassizismus ist renoviert worden und ist zurzeit eins der am besten gepflegten Landgüter in Pārdaugava (Stadtteil von Riga). Bis heutzutage sind von etwa 10 Gebäuden des Landgutes das Wohngebäude und den Park erhalten. Das größte Teil seines Lebens (1808 – 1850) hat im Landgut von Rāmava der deutsch-baltische Schriftsteller und Gutsbesitzer Garlieb Merkel verbracht. Das Landgut von Rāmava bietet Unterkünfte, Räume für Seminare, Ferienlager, Festlichkeiten und Fotoshooting an. |
