► Nine home cafés will await guests in the Kuldīga Administrative District on July 10 and 11.
Kuldīga and Skrunda are two towns on the Venta River. This is one of the loveliest places in Kurzeme, and it turns out that the people there are among the most hospitable and creative people of all. They grow and manufacture high-quality products at their farms or family factories. They want guests to enjoy, sense and taste the diversity of the surrounding areas of the towns. There's no hurry, and the slow flow of the Venta River will be an inspiration. TASTE KULDĪGA. At the centre of the "Home Café" movement is a person and the products that he produces, starting with shiitake mushrooms, beef and eggs and ending with chilli peppers and goat cream cheese. Owners will be prepared to open their farms to guests to talk about their lifestyle and to offer a chance to taste the foods that are typical only of their operations.
All events can be found under "Home Cafés" or on the "Map" (in Latvian).

► What are "Home Café Days"?
The yards of farms and other places that are not linked to dining and accommodations on a daily basis will turn into cafés for a day or two. Guests will be able to taste local foods to learn new flavours, as well as to enjoy an interesting cultural programme. Each farm has families and/or friends who will prepare a special offer -- flatbreads, cakes, casseroles etc. to be served with tea or coffee. Each farm will present the name of its café, and the products will be served with characteristic cultural characteristic and stories. There will also be various cultural activities such as handicrafts, games, playing of musical instruments, etc.
