On November 29, 2018, 18 cultural signs "Latvian Heritage" were presented at the premises of the Latvian State Forests as a token of gratitude for the work done so far in the care and promotion of cultural heritage.

The cultural label "Latvian Heritage" is awarded to Latvian tourism entrepreneurs who preserve and celebrate Latvian cultural heritage, showing it to visitors. The label was created and has been awarded since 2013 at the initiative of "Lauku ceļotājs" to honor and show the Latvian cultural and everyday heritage that lives today. By this label, you can recognize places where hosts are ready to show and tell visitors, treat them with Latvian dishes, teach crafts and skills, and celebrate Latvian holidays.

On November 29, the label was presented to 18 farms:

Handicrafts group “Paukers” , Ventspils region, For the propagation of Ance craft skills.

"Rideļu Mill" , Engure region, For the preservation of the material heritage of the mill and the propagation of craft skills.

Knitter and weaver Regīna Kalniņa , Nīca region, for spreading the skills of making the Nīca national costume.

Weaver Pēteris Tutāns , Tukums region, For the praise of the craft of weaver.

SIA “Saldus maiznieks” , Saldus municipality, For the celebration of bread traditions.

Association “EKC Suiti” , Alsunga region, For the maintenance and chanting of Suiti traditions.

Holiday house Stūrīši – Branki, Dundaga municipality, For the preservation of Livonian household items and the celebration of food.

Pāce wool processing factory , Dundaga municipality, for the maintenance and promotion of the wool processing trade.

Basket weaving master Inta Bendrupa , Jelgava region, about the cultivation of the basket weaving craft.

Association "Watermarks" , Jēkabpils region, About chanting meadows.

Jaunpils Crafts House , Jaunpils region, For the promotion of craft skills.

Weaving and handicraft workshop "Ozolkalna klēts" , Madona municipality, for the cultivation of weaving skills.

Hotel "Meke" , Salacgrīva municipality, For a modern solution for the revitalization and preservation of the Latvian environment and historical buildings.

Home producers “Cēsu maize” , Cēsu region, About the chanting of spelt bread.

SIA “Kainaiži Birzī” , Smiltene municipality, About the modern development of Latvian traditions – birch sap.

"Siguldas Spieķu darbnīca" , Sigulda region, For maintaining the tradition of Sigulda's cane making.

Līvāni Glassblowing Workshop , Līvāni Municipality, For the preservation of the craft skills – glassblowing – traditions.

Country house “Upenīte” , Aglona region, About the chanting of traditional Latgalian food.

The cultural label "Latvian Heritage" indicates to visitors that these objects offer opportunities to learn about Latvian heritage. In total, 106 farms throughout Latvia have now received the label. Each farm is awarded the label for a specific skill or expression of the Latvian way of life, which is also involved in tourism.

The seminar was organized and co-financed by the Estonia-Latvia Programme from the European Regional Development Fund within the framework of the project “Development and Promotion of Small Ethnic Cultural Spaces as a Tourism Destination”.
