As you travel from Kandava to Sabile, you will find a parking lot on the right side of the road. From there, there are steps to a viewing area on the highest hill in the Abava Ancient River Valley – Greiļi Hill. This offers a wonderful view of the ancient river valley and the local mosaic of meadows and forests. The landscape is enriched by the Imula and Amula valleys that are on the other side of the ancient river valley.

Die Anfänge von Līvāni als eine Ortschaft sind mit dem Jahr 1533 verbunden, als der damalige Grundbesitzer von Lieven ein Landgut herausgebildet und es in seinem Namen Lievenhof genannt hat. Im Jahr 1678 wurde hier die erste katholische Kirche gebaut. Die Stadt hat wesentlich unter beiden Weltkriegen gelitten. Der Name von Līvāni ist mit der Glasindustrie verbunden. Im Jahr 1887 wurde hier eine Glasfabrik gegründet, die heute nicht mehr arbeitet. |

The farm "Kronīši" is located in Viļķenes Parish, Limbažu County. The farm grows organic vegetables that are processed into various home preserves. Teas are produced from plants collected from organic meadows, jams, preserves, syrups and juices are also on offer. Fruits and berries are collected from the garden itself, as well as from local farmers and the nearby Rūstuži and Blome marshes. The farm welcomes tourists and exchange groups with prior application. For family events, incl. a teahouse is available for children's parties, creative workshops and other activities. Offers tours with Soviet-era cars and retro cars. |

The trail tells about grey dunes which have survived thanks to the border restrictions and the presence of military. The trail starts from the parking place at the mouth of the Užava river. It is one of the few natural rivermouths in Europe. One can also see the „tacis”, an industrial installation for lamprey (Lampetra fluviatilis) fishing during their spawning migration period. The 3km long trail is circular. It winds for 1.5km from the Užava rivermouth to the North, along the coastline (the beach is covered with sand and pebbles), and returns to the starting point by a gravel road through grey dunes. Along the trail, one can observe a distinct white dune with rare plant species Linaria loeselii, Lathyrus maritimus, Anthyllis arenaria, Tragopogon heterospermus. About 1km from the rivermouth, in the sea, one can see a wrack of a sailing ship (parts of frame). The visibility depends on the flow of sand in the sea. The way back opens a beautiful view of the range of grey dunes. Unfortunately, Scots Pine starts taking over the area. There are three important biotopes of EU significance: „Fixed dunes with herbaceous vegetation 2130”, „Decalcified fixed dunes with Empetrum nigrum 2140” and „Dunes with Salix arenaria 2170”, forming a unique mosaic. Typical species here: mountain Alison ‘(Alyssum gmelinii), Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla pratensis), Sand Pink (Dianthus arenarius), Rosemary Leaved Willow (Salix rosmarinifolia), Dark Red Helleborine (Epipactis atrorubens), Kinnikinnick (Arctostaphylus uva-ursi). As a former military site, some military constructions can be seen here like horseshoe-shaped sand ramparts by the road in gray dunes. They were built to disguise military vehicles in case of sea attack. By the Kangroti graveyard, towards the Užava river, there is an underground pillbox. Neliela apdzīvota un ainaviska vieta plašajā Skrobļa (Skroblus) strauta ielejā. Ciema austrumu pusē atrodas Lietuvas mērogā unikāls objekts – klēts - rija, kur no 1929. g. vietējie cilvēki uzveda un skatījās lauku teātra izrādes. Netālu no tās (uz abiem objektiem ir norādes) atrodas Skrobļa avoti (Skroblaus versmės), kas iztek no dziļas starppauguru ieplakas. Avotu gan ir appludinājis bebru uzceltais dambis. Dienvidos no ciema atrodas vecs grants karjers, kas ir viena no retajām vietām Baltijā, kur dabā ir atrodami krama ieža gabali, kas atnesti ar ledāju. |

Der kurvige Pfad durch das Naturschutzgebiet darf nur in Begleitung eines Führers des SNP betreten werden. Über steile Treppen, die zur ehemaligen Küste des Baltischen Eismeeres führen, gelangt man in eine andere Welt, in der man Böschungswälder, Wälder mit breitblättrigen Bäumen, Quellenmoor, kalkiges Moor, Überreste alter Entwässerungsgräben und modernde Tannenstämme (bedeutend für die Artenvielfalt), die sich seit den Stürmen von 1969 erhalten haben. Der Pfad beginnt am Leuchtturm von Slītere in dem sich (in der Saison) das SNP Besucherzentrum befindet.

Der bäuerliche Betrieb wurde 1992 gegründet. Für die Herstellung der Erzeugnisse wird die Milch von eigenen Kühen verwendet. Betriebsbesichtigung, Verkostung und Erwerb der Erzeugnisse. Käse kann man bestellen. |

Das einzige Kaffee in Lettland, das ein sehr ungewöhnliches Interieur – mit Miltärtechnik und Gegenstände, darunter auch der Stil der sowjetischen Armee hat. Im Garten vom Kaffee sind auch mehrere interessante Exponate aufgestellt – Geschosse der Artillerie, Flugzeug, Kriegsautos u.a. Es lohnt sich wirklich hier eine Tasse Kaffee zu trinken.

Aptuveni 0,5 km dienvidos no Mežotnes pilskalna atrodas Vīna kalns, kas līdzīgi kā Mežotnes pilskalns, ir veidots, izmantojot Lielupes ielejas stāvās krastu nogāzes, tās pārveidojot. Vietvārds ir it kā radies no stāsta, ka šeit parādījies dievgalds ar maizi un vīnu. Vīna kalnu ar Mežotnes pilskalnu savieno jauka koka laipa, kas ved pa Lielupes ielejas pamatkrasta lejas daļu. |

Atrodas pie tilta (Akadēmijas iela 1) pār Lielupi. 1574. g. pēc Kurzemes – Zemgales hercoga Gotharda Ketlera pavēles uzsāk jaunas baznīcas celtniecību. Dievnama tornis tapa laikā no 1686. g. – 1688. g., bet 1862. g. to paaugstināja līdz 80,5 m. Baznīca nodega padomju aviācijas uzlidojuma laikā 1944. g. 27. jūlijā. 1954. g. Padomju armijas sapieri uzspridzināja ēkas atliekas. 2009. g. sākās baznīcas torņa rekonstrukcija un šobrīd tajā izveidots izcils interaktīvais muzejs (īpaši draudzīgs bērniem) un stiklota skatu platforma. |

This is not a well known castle hill, but it offers one of the most unusual views of Lake Lielezers of Augstroze. There are ruins on the castle hill, and a short hiking trail has been installed to look at them. This is part of the ZBR.

Das besondere Gericht: 4 vēji: Schweinefleisch mit geschmortem Sauerkraut und Kartoffeln auf einer heißen Pfanne. |
