Muiža vēsturiskajos dokumentos pirmoreiz ir pieminēta 16. gs. Tagad redzamā vienstāva kungu māja ir vairākreiz pārbūvēta laikā no 17. – 19. gs. 1997. g. ēku vēlreiz atjaunoja un tagad tajā atrodas viesu nams un Vilsandi nacionālā parka apmeklētāju centrs, kur var iegūt ne tikai vērtīgu informāciju, bet arī apskatīt Vilsandi apkārtnē atrastās fosilijas. No Lonas muižas var uzsākt pārgājienu uz Vilsandi salu. Vienā no muižas ēkām ir izveidota Vilsandi nacionālajam parkam veltīta ekspozīcija.

Taka atrodas Riekstusalas pussalā, netālu no putnu vērošanas torņa. Uz peldošiem pontoniem celtā laipa iepazīstina ar Kaņiera ezeru „tuvplānā”. Var iepazīt niedrājus, to putnus, labi redzamo ezera gultni ar zivju mazuļiem un kalcifilām augu sabiedrībām. Laipa aizved līdz salai, uz kuras aug kadiķi.

The artist’s workshop is in a lovely single family farm. She weaves tapestries, allows visitors to watch her at work, accepts commissions for tapestries, and sells finished ones. Many of her artworks are practical souvenirs or could be fine gifts for others.

For more than 20 years the company has been partnering with some 100 local suppliers of milk.  Its main principle is to offer healthy dairy products, including kefir, cottage cheese, cream, yogurts and soft cheese.  SIA Elpa is the only dairy processing company in Southern Kurzeme that offers tours and tastings of products.  Products can be bought, and during the tours, visitors can taste kefir, cheese and yogurt and help with the dairy processing process themselves.

The tour from Rīga to Tallinn combines natural and cultural heritage and includes lovely landscapes and 15 nature trails which cross marshlands, meadows and forests along the shores of the Baltic Sea, including several protected nature reserves. Dievnams celts (1851. g.) un vēlāk (1876. g.) paplašināts. Tas tika sagrauts 2. Pasaules kara laikā un pēcāk atjaunots. Līdz Latvijas neatkarības atgūšanai to izmantoja par skolas sporta zāli. Grape selection and cultivation was the great passion of Pauls Sukatnieks, and his memorial garden is worth visiting during the harvesting time. At Kaldabruņa you will visit an art gallery housed in a hay-shed together with a hay museum. The romantic landscape park at Asares estate dates back to the 18th century and exposes carefully picked tree and shrub varietes. Riekstiņi is an authentic single-family Selonian farm with a specific spirit and ambience. Nereta Evangelical Lutheran church is one of the oldest stone buildings in Sēlija region dating back to 1584. Sauka Nature Park offers nice landscape views from a viewing tower. Rudzīši wineyard grows about 80 grape varieties. Pick your own blackcurrant berries at Bāniši berry farm. A beautiful landscape garden is open for visitors at Gundegas house.  200 year old oaks adorn the Vārkavas Park.  At Naujene museum of regional studies you will see an exposition showing the house of a wealthy Latvian farmer from the turn of 19th-20th centuries. Vasargelišķu viewing tower is 24m high and offers great views over the meandering Daugava River. Ethnographical Slutišķu village with carefully maintained wooden cabins exemplifies traditional Latgalian architecture. Kurmīši farm grows medicinal plants that are very common in Latvia – oregano, St John’s wort, wormwood, lemon balm, catsfoot, etc.
