The potter uses the black (smoke) technique to create his artworks, and he uses clay from Latgale. He uses no industrial equipment in his work, and the kiln is fired with firewood. This is a “peripheral” island in the Bay of Finland, 9 km from the Dirhami port. The special fact about this island is that it offers fields of juniper, a rocky and grassy seashore that is around 2 km long, and limestone cliffs that are a few metres high along the northern and the eastern shores of the island. Grūti iedomāties, ka vēl joprojām Eiropā ir apdzīvotas vietas, kuru sasniegšanai ir labu laika sprīdi jābrauc pa neapdzīvotu mežu ieskautu smilšainu ceļu, kur tikai paretam var redzēt kādu sēņotāju vai ogotāju! Tāpat kā Zervinos ciemam, arī šim ir piešķirts kultūras mantojuma pieminekļa statuss, jo Linežeris ir viens no dažiem nacionālā parka etnogrāfiskajiem ciemiem. Linežerī ir aplūkojamas 19. – 20. gs. mijā celtās ēkas un apskatāms tā laika ciema plānojums. Šejieniešu tāpat kā citu dzūku galvenā nodarbošanās bija mežistrāde un meža velšu vākšana. Nelielā mērā – arī lauksaimniecība. Apceļojot nacionālā parka etnogrāfiskos ciemus, rodas pamatots jautājums: „Ar ko mūsdienās te nodarbojas cilvēki. Kā viņi spēj dzīvot tik nomaļā vietā”? Jāatzīst, ka lielākā daļa te ierodas tikai vasaras laikā. Neskatoties uz to, etnogrāfiskie ciemi ir ļoti sakopti un joprojām „dzīvi”!

Handicrafts Centre is waiting to surprise you and offer you many new and fun experiences. Avinurme is the most south-eastern parish of EastViruCounty. Due to location and nature conditions, Avinurme area has strong woodcraft and business traditions, which are based on knowledge passed on generatoin to generation. The main products have always been wooden vessels – different household items such as barrels, tubs, casks, wooden buckets, sauna wash tubes, wooden roof chips and furniture, particularly chairs.  Wooden Handicrafts Centre you can test your dexterity in the many different workshops offered. This is also a  tourist centre where you can get acquainted with local wood products. There is also a café serving dishes of Peipus region on special wood products, and home-made rye bread is also available here.

The Jumari farm is located in Dundaga parish, near Valpene. The 7th generation of the owners’ family run the farm.  The farm produces fruit, berries and vegetables. Beautiful flowers and shrubs surround the house. Visitors can tour the farm, learn about growing blackberries and biological farming methods, and enjoy herbal teas.  The lady of the house offers small pillows stuffed with grasses, as well as woven bookmarks. She also bakes sklandrauši, the traditional carrot buns.  Jumari is one of the destinations along Dundaga Administrative District bicycling routes.

The Strūves Park is toward the northwest of Jēkabpils, on the left bank of the Daugava, and opposite the Ādamsona (Krustpils) island. The park was established in the 19th century as a place where the city’s residents could relax and hold celebrations. It can be said with absolute certainty that this is a place of global importance, because the park contains a memorial stone to Professor Friedrich Georg Wilhelm Struwe (1793-1864) from the University of Tartu. He was an astronomer and geodesist. The stone is at a place where Struwe completed his land survey of the Vidzeme Province of the Russian Empire. The meridian location which Struwe identified (and other points related to those locations are found in many other European countries) is on the UNESCO list of world heritage.

The saloon is in the most popular pedestrian thoroughfare in Jūrmala. The wooden building is typical of the town, has a nice interior and offers Latvian cuisine. The saloon offers the largest selection of Latvian draft beers.

Ķurmrags is one of the most distinct capes along the Vidzeme shore of the Bay of Rīga.  Around it, waves and ice have put together a large amount of fieldstones, and the steep shores are made of sandstone.  There are the ruins of an old lighthouse here, with the building collapsing toward the sea.  It was still standing around 15 years ago.

Latgale rehabilitation centre „Rāzna”. The rehabilitation centre „Rāzna” is built on a small hillock at Lake Zosna. Sanatorium „Rāzna” is surrounded by many trees. Originally, the house was built as a summer house for artists. The centre is an architectural monument of local importance.

The present wooden church on the hill was built in 1947 but today it has been restored. Currently, the deanery of Rezekne is located there. Every day you can see it from the outside. Until 1960, in Dukstigals there were two congregations: White Dukstigals (Šadurska) and Black Dukstigal (Slobodska). In White Dukstigals, the church was built in 1775. In 1960, during the time of the Soviet power, the church was violently demolished, despite the fact that it was an architectural monument and the oldest wooden church in Latgale-367years old! The "excuse" was the explanation that one congregation must not have two churches.

This pyramid-shaped hillock with an observation tower at the top of it was established by the Soviet military. It is along the Ķevele-Saldus road, where the Zvārde airfield used to be located. It was used as an observation facility to co-ordinate army training manoeuvres. There is a view of the former airfield and the massive forests of the Zvārde Nature Park and nature reserve. It is an appropriate location for bird-watching. Note that there are no improvements there.

In terms of territory, it is the most impressive dune range in the Baltics. This is the only place in the Baltics, where one can enjoy open dune sands that are still active and, under the influence of wind, form the so-called eolian relief forms. There are trails, wooded trails and a paved bikeway for the conveniences of visitors. In order to protect the dune, The Dunes of Curonian spit National Park has been established .
