Die Ordenfestung Vasteliina stammt aus dem 14. Jh. Und bis zum Ende des 17. Jh. war es eine mächtige Grenzfestung zwischen Russland und Europa. Endgültig wurde die Festung im Nordischen Krieg 1702 zerstört. Im Mittelalter war die Festung von Vastseliina in der katholischen Welt als Zielort von Pilgerwanderungen bekannt. Das Besucherzentrum befindet sich im ehemaligen Wirtshaus. Für die Gäste werden Ausstellungen über Geschichte der Burg und der Ortschaft, Legenden, Handarbeit, Workshops, Konzerte und Spektakel angeboten. Im ehemaligen Wirtshaus werden stilvolle Mahlzeiten durchgeführt, wo die Gäste Kleidung aus Mittelalter tragen.

These meadows are of distinction because of the curvy Slampe River, which has caused a gradual recovery of damp meadows, complete with species of plants and animals that are typical of such areas.  Domestic animals adapted for life in the wild can be seen here, and a bird watching tower on the location will offer you an excellent opportunity to view them.  You can get to the meadows via a narrow corridor known as the Melnragu throat.  The gravel road will lead to a hillock called Kurgāns from which you can have an excellent view of the surrounding landscape.

Farm is located ~1 km to the north of Puikule near to the former Limbazi railway, in the territory of North Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve. The farm breeds sheep of the Latvian dark-head breed from which wool, hats, scarves, souvenirs etc. are made by felting. They can be purchased in the farm. Sheep graze in nearby meadows, thus promoting plant diversity in the area. About the role of pets in maintaining biodiversity can also be read on the bench in the yard. In the barn house is a collection of household items. Visitors can take a guided tour and buy souvenirs.

It is the bicycle collection of father and son Jānis and Guntis Seregins, which is the only collection of antique bicycles in Latvia. They have been collecting cycles since 1977 when they joined the Antique Automobile Club and became fascinated with Latvia’s cycling traditions. The collection’s core is formed from technically unusual bicycles. In total, the museum has approximately 70 Latvian-made and used bicycles. Besides bicycles there are many other pieces of cycling ephemera relating to sport, cycle clubs and bicycle production. The museum has an extensive collection of bicycle brands, bringing together 1000 badges from all over the world. Guided excursions available.

Befindet sich in Alūksnē, Pils Straße 25 a. In einem am Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts errichteten Gebäude des Handelspavillons wurde 1990 das Bibelmuseum von Ernst Glück errichtet, das die einzige Einrichtung dieser Art in Lettland und Baltikum ist. Das Museum ist dem Pfarrer und Aufklärer Ernst Glück (1652 – 1705) – dem ersten Bibelübersetzer ins Lettische gewidmet. Im Museum kann man sich mit den verschiedenen Bibelausgaben von 1694 bis heutzutage auf 38 Weltsprachen, den Ausgaben der Predigten und anderer christlicher Literatur bekannt machen.
