The distance from Riga to Tallinn is more than 300 km and it takes approx. 5 hours by bus. Therefore we suggest stopping on the way for a brief excursion to a herb farm and lunch in a country pub. This stopover is approx. 1.5 hours’ drive from Riga, just at that point when one needs to stretch one’s legs and enjoy a change of scene. The visit will give an insight in rural life and it may surprise visitors to learn how well Latvians understand nature, knowing and using herbs for food, health and beauty. After the excursion, the group will have lunch in a country pub serving meals made from locally grown ingredients. |

The farm uses ancient recipes from grandmothers to bake aromatic sourdough and rye bread on maple leaves, with the crunch crust being processed with flax oil. You can help to bake the bread and then taste and buy it. |

Dieses Territorium wurde zum Schutz der Hainbuche eingerichtet, die ungefähr 4% des Gebietes bedeckt. Der optisch interessanteste Teil des Gebietes ist jedoch der Tīrspurvs – Sumpf, auch als Dunika - Heide bekannt. Hier findet der Besucher Lettlands längsten und beeindruckendsten Sumpfpfad, der das Gebiet von Norden nach Süden durchzieht. Der Besucher wird fasziniert sein von der einzigartigen Landschaft des zentralen Teils des Sumpfes, wo es an einigen Plätzen nicht einmal kleine Sumpfkiefernbäume gibt. Es gibt verschiedene Biotope – kleine Sumpfseen, mineralische Inseln, Wasserlachen usw. Ganz zu schweigen von all den Vögeln in diesem Gebiet.

The first wooden Catholic church in Dagda was built in 1705, while the church that is seen today was built in the Baroque style during the latter half of the 18th century, the work financed by a local nobleman. Important interior elements include the altar, the pulpit, the organ, a monument to the Hilsen dynasty, etc. To the North of the church is historical Dagda itself, with typical red brick buildings from the early 20th century that are known as the former homes of Jewish merchants.

Dieser Abschnitt des Waldweges führt durch den gesamten Gauja-Nationalpark und bietet die Möglichkeit, die schönsten Orte und Sehenswürdigkeiten dieses Nationalparks von mehr als 100 km zu sehen. Der Gauja-Nationalpark ist der älteste und größte Nationalpark in Lettland. Das alte Tal des Flusses Gauja ist das tiefste Flusstal in den baltischen Staaten. Die Ufer des Flusses Gauja zeigen bunte Sandsteinaufschlüsse, die sich im Wasser widerspiegeln. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind im Frühling, wenn Vogelkirschbäume in voller Blüte stehen, und im Herbst, wenn die Bäume rot und gelb werden, am schönsten. Das alte Tal des Flusses Gauja hat ein markantes Relief, das bis zu 80 m schwanken kann. Der größte Teil der Straße führt über Waldwege entlang des Flusses und verlässt die Wälder in Līgatne und Sigulda. Fast die Hälfte des Parks ist von Wald bedeckt. Der Gauja-Nationalpark ist bekannt für die große Vielfalt besonders geschützter Wälder mit krautigen Fichtenwäldern, Hang- und Schluchtenwäldern sowie gemischten Laubwäldern. |

The farm "Kronīši" is located in Viļķenes Parish, Limbažu County. The farm grows organic vegetables that are processed into various home preserves. Teas are produced from plants collected from organic meadows, jams, preserves, syrups and juices are also on offer. Fruits and berries are collected from the garden itself, as well as from local farmers and the nearby Rūstuži and Blome marshes. The farm welcomes tourists and exchange groups with prior application. For family events, incl. a teahouse is available for children's parties, creative workshops and other activities. Offers tours with Soviet-era cars and retro cars. |

This is an entirely forested island in the Bay of Finland, ~14 km from Tallinn. A network of small pathways covers the entire island. Recommended hike along the seashore of the island, which will offer dunes, as well as a coastline that is sandy in some parts, rocky in others, and covered with reeds in still others (~9 km). A ferry boat will take you to the island from the Pirita port.
