Auf dieser Tour treffen Sie eine reiche Mischung aus Bewohnern von Feuchtgebieten, Wäldern und der Küste, wenn fast alle Vogelarten hier angekommen und einige Zugvögel noch geblieben sind. Sie haben die Möglichkeit, mehr als 200 verschiedene Arten zu beobachten. Mit der Vogelbeobachtung beginnen wir in dem Nationalpark Gauja mit seiner hügeligen Landschaft. Weiter fahren wir Richtung der östlichen Küste der Rigaer Bucht und dem See Burtnieks, wo man auch die Möglichkeit nutzen kann, eine Nachtwanderung auf Überschwemmungsgebieten zu unternehmen. Das Moor Seda ist mit seinen Schilf- und Überschwemmungsgebieten sehr reich an wilder Natur. Die Kanufahrt auf dem Fluss Gauja bietet am nächsten Tag einen anderen Blickwinkel auf die Vögel, und, wenn man Glück hat, kann man auch Biber und andere wilde Tiere sehen. Danach führt die Tour durch einen Eichenwald bis zum See Lubans. Die Feuchtgebiete und die Fischteiche dieser Gegend bilden einen der wichtigsten Orte für Vogelbeobachtung in Lettland. Sie werden von der lokalen Spezialität – der Fischsuppe – gewärmt. An diesem Ort befand sich auch eine der ältesten Steinzeitsiedlungen, die auf dem Gebiet Lettlands bekannt ist. Auf dem Weg nach Riga halten wir in dem Kiefernwald von Garkalne.

This barrow is on the western side of the Dunduri meadows and was built on the parking lot of the former collective farm. From the second level of the tower, you will have an excellent view of the meadows all the way to the Džukste River and the Kauguri canal. There are livestock accustomed to life in the wild, although they will sometimes be quite distant. This is a bird-watching location from the springtime until the second half of the summer.

St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Nagļi was built in 1862 by landlord Nābels. Some time ago, Nagļi Church was a branch of Viļāni Church. The Bernardian monks served there. After the closing of the cloisters in 1930s, the church was served by priests.

The owner of the Stāmeriena Estate was Baron Johann Gottlieb von Wolff, and his wife, Sofia Potyomkina, was a member of the Russian Orthodox faith, so work on the church began in 1902.  It was consecrated two years later.  The crosses on the steeple of the church are known for mountain crystals that were presented by the Wolff dynasty.  Contact the church in advance for a tour of its interior.

This is the only Straw Museum in Latvia, with ~370 sculptures and dolls made of straw and hay. Children in particular will love the chance to learn skills related to straw and hay at the creative straw workshop, where specific methodologies have been developed. This is for people who enjoy forests, wildlife, local traditions and has a specific interest in the different species of funghi. Everyone could try their hand at mushrooming, identification and by the end of the day together with guide sort out the collected mushrooms. The tour passes several national parks and late back villages. The group will also visit to one of shitake mushroom growers for comparison reasons.
