Der Burghügel von Buse (Matkule) befindet sich an einer  vom Flüsschen Imula gebildeten Bucht.Vom Hügel zum gegenüberliegenden Ufer der Imula kann man eine der schönsten Ansichten eines kleinen Flusses in Kurzeme genießen. Die beste Sicht hat man natürlich, wenn die Bäume keine Blätter tragen, und die Landschaft nicht von Ufergewächsen verdeckt wird. In der Umgebung gibt es Wanderpfade.

The Museum of Francis Trasuns „Kolnasāta”. The museum of the promoter of Latgalian revival, prominent cultural worker, pastor and politician F. Trasuns (1864 – 1926) was established in his house „Kolnasāta”. There is also an exposition about Jānis Klīdzējs; a collection of old household items. „Kolnasāta” is the place of many cultural events in Latgale.

Befindet sich in Skrīveri, Daugavas Straße 58. Das erste Haus des Schriftstellers (1877 – 1970) wurde 1908 gebaut, aber jetziges Haus – im Jahre 1921 auf der Grundlage des ersten Hauses. Im Gebäude ist ein Museum eingerichtet. Die Exposition des Museum veranschaulicht einen Lebens- und Schaffensweg des Schriftstellers, sowie wie der Roman “Grüne Erde” erschaffen wurde. Neben dem Haus ist ein Garten.1952 hat der Schriftsteller das Haus mit dem Garten der Staat geschenkt. Es werden Führungen und museumspädagogische Programme angeboten.

This facility is in the historical village of Pape in Southern Kurzeme.  Accommodations are available in an historical granary with a roof made of reeds.  It is appropriate for inhabitation during the late spring, the summer and the early fall.  There are three bedrooms, a small front room and a kitchen, with two floors in all.  The building will fit eight people.  This is an ideal location for creative camps, plenary sessions, master workshops and other activities.  There are tenting areas for as many as 80 people.  The Mikjāņi farm observes local traditions and offers traditional foods such as “herring on coals,” white butter with boiled potatoes, fish soup, etc., for visitors who apply for a meal in advance.  This offer is only available to groups which register in advance.

Smārde ist ein alter Ort, der schon in den Quellen aus dem 13. Jh. erwähnt worden ist. Heute ist Smārde eine kleine Ortschaft mit einem Bahnhof und einem Geschäft. Nordöstlich von Smārde – im Moor von Smārde – befinden sich die ehemaligen Torfgewinnungsstellen. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs befand sich unweit von Smārde die Frontlinie, von der auch die Gedenkstätten in der nächsten Umgebung zeugen.
