This 368 metre structure is the highest television tower in the European Union. Its viewing area, which is at a height of 97 metres, is the highest publicly available viewing area in Latvia. The location offers a fantastic view of Rīga and Old Rīga to Pārdaugava, the Bay of Rīga and Sigulda – a radius of at least 50 kilometres.

The Bauska Nature Park runs for several dozen kilometres along the Lielupe River and its tributaries – the Mūsa and the Mēmele. This is a protected territory. The shores of these rivers contain some of the largest dolomite cliffs in Zemgale. These are protected both as biotopes and as geological monuments. The rivers are important places for river lampreys and vimbas to spawn. Tourists will be attracted by the cultural landscape of the area, as well as the cultural monuments such as the Bauska castle, the Jumpravmuiža park, the Mežotne castle hill, Vīna Hill, the Mežotne castle, etc. The rivers are used for water tourism. |

This pile of big rocks stands around 9 m high and is some kind of monument to Krišjānis Barons and his achievements on behalf of the Latvian people. His parents lived at the Valpene Estate, and the rocks contain engraved names of lost homesteads from the region. Their direction in the pyramid indicates where the homesteads used to be. The idea for the rocks came from Imants Ziedonis, and the pyramid was built by the sculptor Vilnis Titāns. |

This is one of few open air objects to honour the globally unique Baltic Way demonstration, during which several million residents of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia joined hands in an unbroken chain that stretched from Tallinn all the way to Vilnius. The monument is at the former border crossing point at Unguriņi on the border between Latvia and Estonia, and it was installed on the 20th anniversary of the demonstration on August 23, 2009. It was designed by the metal artist Andris Dukurs. |

Matsalu muiža pirmoreiz vēsturiskajos avotos ir minēta 1560. g., kad tā ietilpa Lihulas bīskapijas sastāvā. Tagad redzamās ēkas ir celtas laikā no 18. gs. otrās puses līdz 20. gs. sākumam. Pagājušā gadsimta sešdesmitajos gados te plānoja izveidot Matsalu rezervāta centru, taču „veiksmīgā loze” tika netālu esošajai Penijē muižai (sk. iepriekš). Mūsdienās muižas pils, citas ēkas un parks (tajā dīķis ar salu) atrodas kritiskā stāvoklī. Taču kā nozīmīgu vēstures liecinieku arī šo muižu var iekļaut apskatāmo objektu sarakstā. Muižas komplekss atrodas pa ceļam uz Kēmu (Keemu) putnu vērošanas torni. |

Divus kilometrus garās lokveida takas sākums ir meklējams pie Somā nacionālā parka apmeklētāju centra (atklāts 2000. gadā) – Tēramā ciemā. The tour starts at former Hanseatic port town Gdansk with its pretty Old Town, then continues to Malbork, an impressive fortified medieval castle and on to laid-back Formbrok with a magnificient Gothic cathederal. The route crosses the Mazurianlake district where hundreds of lakes are connected to rivers and canals, best expereinced from the deck of a boat. Continue to Wigry National Park with walking trails and interesting archaeological and cultural remains. Further into Lithuania, Dzukija National Park has several well preserved traditional farmsteads and villages which are well worth a visit. It's a good place to experience Lithuanian crafts and traditions, for instance bee keeping. Then the route goes via Kaunas to the Curonian Spit formed by shifting sand dunes between its lagoon and the sea. Pretty little villages are located along its length. Next the route goes to the sea resort Palanga with a great Amber Museum and on to Latvia. Stop at Pape Nature Park, a diverse mosaic of nature’s ecosystems, where wild horses and oxen breed. Slītere National Park shows the historical development of the Baltic Sea. Cape Kolka is a prime spot for bird migrations, Slītere lighthouse provides a great view of the surrounding forests and traditonal Liv villages, one of the smallest ethnic groups in the world. The Ķemeri National Park includes different types of wetlands and vast bogs. It is famous for its sulphur springs. Walk a Great Heath trail there and try the curative spring water. Further on Gauja National Park is formed around the ancient valley of the Gauja river with picturesque sandstone cliffs from the Devonian period. Here are many historic monuments – medieval castles, churches and ancient settlements which you can see crossing the valley on a cable car. Ligatne Nature trails offer a chance to observe local wild animals. Saaremaa's landscape is characterised by large juniper growths, dolomite cliffs, windmills, medieval churches and the famous Kaali meteorite lake. It also retains a very Estonian soul. Sooma National Park has contrasting swamps. Walk a beaver trail there and try 'bog-shoeing'. Lahemaa National Park has a rugged coastal andscape with big boulders, traditional fishing villages, forest trails and romantic manor houses. From Tallin take a ferry to Helsinki, from where it is an easy trip to Nuuksio National Park, home to an endangered flying squirrel. The landscape here is dominated by valleys and gorges, rocky hills covered by lichen and sparse pine forest that is very different to the previous parks. Well-equipped walking trails have several scenic views. |

The name of the location translates to “Honey Castle,” and the owner has some 300 hives of bees. Honey that he has produced has won a number of prizes. He offers hogweed honey, honeyed local berries, and honey straws for children (the only place in Latvia where these are offered). You can tour the farm, taste ten types of honey, and purchase beekeeping products. “Extreme Beekeeping” is a process which will allow you to put on a beekeeper’s suit to learn about the hard-working insects up close. The owner also produces wax candles. |

This is a diverse territory in terms of biotopes and landscapes, and the restricted area was established to protect nesting and migrating birds in the area. One part of the swamp has a cranberry farm – one of the first artificially established farms of its type in Latvia.

The museum is located in Pilkuse manor farm, exhibits on display are carts, carriages and sleighs along with accessories from horse collars to lap robes. Military, emergency and fire brigade carts are extraordinary and rare while a coach and a calash (barouche) are exhibits to be really proud of. Numerous agricultural tools and equipment also ensure hours of excitement and discovery in the museum. |

The tree farm focuses on decorative plants, including summer and perennial flowers, fern and collections of peonies. Flower containers and pyramids are made on order. The farm delivers and installs vertical “green walls”. The farm also offers Christmas products and materials for floral design. |

This is the second thickest tree in Latvia and the Baltic States. There is a large and open hole in the trunk of the tree. Like most trees of its size, it has suffered lightning damage. The tree is a wonderful part of the landscape, and a little wooden fence has been put up around it.
