No 28 m augstā torņa, kas atrodas uz apdzīvotas „salas” – Siksalas Teiču purva vidū, paveras ļoti plaša augstā purva ainava ar Siksalas ezeru, citām minerālzemes salām un Siksalas mazciemu. Tā kā tornis atrodas Teiču dabas rezervātā, to var apmeklēt tikai Dabas aizsardzības pārvaldes inspektora pavadībā, iepriekš piesakot vizīti T: + 371 28333415.

This pyramid-shaped hillock with an observation tower at the top of it was established by the Soviet military. It is along the Ķevele-Saldus road, where the Zvārde airfield used to be located. It was used as an observation facility to co-ordinate army training manoeuvres. There is a view of the former airfield and the massive forests of the Zvārde Nature Park and nature reserve. It is an appropriate location for bird-watching. Note that there are no improvements there.

The tower offers a look at the historical centre of Limbaži , the castle ruins, and the landscape all the way to Lake Dūņezers. The Limbaži castle was part of Latvia’s earliest fortifications, and its unique gates survive to this very day. Keys to the tower can be found at the museum. This is part of the ZBR.

Atrodas pie tilta (Akadēmijas iela 1) pār Lielupi. 1574. g. pēc Kurzemes – Zemgales hercoga Gotharda Ketlera pavēles uzsāk jaunas baznīcas celtniecību. Dievnama tornis tapa laikā no 1686. g. – 1688. g., bet 1862. g. to paaugstināja līdz 80,5 m. Baznīca nodega padomju aviācijas uzlidojuma laikā 1944. g. 27. jūlijā. 1954. g. Padomju armijas sapieri uzspridzināja ēkas atliekas. 2009. g. sākās baznīcas torņa rekonstrukcija un šobrīd tajā izveidots izcils interaktīvais muzejs (īpaši draudzīgs bērniem) un stiklota skatu platforma.

From here you will see the overgrowth north-western part of the lake, Akmeņsala Island, and a wide area of open water. The third is on the southern shore of the lake, by the dam and the Īdeņa canal. Viewing tower on pontoons, and there is a footpath to get to it. The tower offers a view of nearly all of Lake Sloka, all the way to Kauguri. Particularly visible is the northern part of the lake. There is also a sulphur spring. The site is good for bird-watching throughout the year, including the winter, because parts of the lake do not freeze over.
