Atrodas Riekstusalas pussalas galā. No tā labi pārskatāma aizaugušā Kaņiera ezera ziemeļu un austrumu daļa. Izcila putnu vērošanas vieta. Pie torņa atrodas viena no retajām Latvijas kadiķu audzēm. Turpat meklējams Kaņiera ezera niedru laipas (uz pontoniem) sākums.

Uzcelts apkaimes augstākajā vietā – Ančupānu meža kalnā, kuru vietējie dēvē par „Bāku”. No 26 m augstā torņa redzama ļoti plaša panorāma ar Rēzeknes pilsētas namiem, baznīcu torņiem un apkaimes mežu masīviem, kas mijas ar lauksaimniecībā izmantojamām zemēm. Blakus tornim – atpūtas vieta.

This is the only viewing platform in Latvia which is wheelchair-accessible. From the second level, you can see much of the restricted territory – areas of reeds, some wetlands, dunes and the estuary of the Daugava River. This is a good location for bird-watching.

The tower is locatede in the Niedrāji-Pilka swamp. Access it via the old Ainaži-Valmiera-Smiltene narrow gauge rail line, which dates back to 1912, and then take the wooden footpaths which are approximately one kilometre long. This is a high-type swamp with small lakes at the foot of the tower. It is in the ZBR.

St Peter’s is one of the oldest historical monuments in the Baltic States, and it is also the best place from which to survey the historical centre of Rīga, which is part of the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. You can see the central part of Old Rīga, City Hall Square, the Pārdaugava region on the opposite side of the river, and even – during clear weather – the Bay of Rīga. The tower of the church is 123 metres high, but the viewing location is at a height of 72 metres.

After a big storm in 2005, the nature trail of the Randu meadows was restored. It is about 4 km long, and there is a bird-watching tower which offers a fine view of unique shoreline meadows with small lagoons and areas of reeds. It is a fine place to watch migrating birds. This is part of the Northern Vidzeme Biosphere Reserve (ZBR).

This is one of the highest points among the hillocks of the Selonian area of Zemgale – Borīškalns Hill. From the tower, you will see Lake Sauka, as well as the forests and farmland which surround it. The “Kalna Ļūdāni” farm is nearby, and its owner uses his livestock to help to maintain the surrounding landscape.

Based on the tower of a former Soviet army radar installation, there is an 18-metre viewing tower at the Southern breakwater of Ventspils (Medņu Street) today. The tower offers a good view of the port territory, with the sea gate at the mouth of the Venta River and the city beach. Binoculars are available at the tower. It is worth walking down the Southern breakwater to get a better look at the sea.

The tower is at the western end of the Seda swamp, accessed from the side of Jērcēni. Transport is limited here. The tower is in the area of the swamp where peat moss is extracted. It offers a broad view of the ponds of Seda and a boat rental facility that is nearby. It is an appropriate location for bird-watching during the season of migration.
