Latvian cuisine

The menu symbol "Latvian cuisine" marks typical Latvian foods, carrying on traditional tastes and recipes and favoured by Latvians as everyday or festive meals. The symbol shows the origins of Latvian foods - they are natural and are harvested in gardens, fields, forests, meadows, rivers, lakes and the sea.

Latvian Heritage mark

The Latvian Heritage mark is given to entrepreneurs of Latvian tourism who maintain and praise Latvian Cultural Heritage in tourism.

Green Certificate

Country and village houses, vacation cottages, guest houses and campings in Latvia practising environment-friendly management can apply for the environmental quality label called the "Green Certificate". This eco-label certifies that the establishment offers healthy recreation in clean and tidy rural environment.

In order to receive the "Green Certificate" accommodations have to comply with 45 environmental and service criteria. Inspections are carried out by LC, and the certification decision is taken by the National Eco-certification Commission which includes independent environmental, nature and tourism experts and representatives from the ministries of Environment and Economics.
