The saloon is in the former home of the governor of the Koknese Estate. It is named after the Latvian author Rūdolfs Blaumanis, who studied at the estate and lived there for two years. There is an outdoor terrace, and it is possible to hold celebrations there.

In the southern part of Līvāni, where Zemgales Street ends at the Daugava River, there is a fairly unusual and exotic form of transportation – one of three river crossings in Latvia.  Unlike the one in Līgatne, this one is operated by a motor, not the flow of the river.  It involves a cable across the river, and it is based on Soviet military pontoons that were used to build pontoon bridges for tanks.  The crossing point was established by its owners.

The Lācīši farm can be found in the Galgauska Parish to the Southwest of Gulbene.  One of the largest farms in Northeastern Vidzeme, it specialises in grain farming (577 ha), rapeseed farming (295 ha), and various grasses.  It is also a dairy farm with some 100 cows to produce meat and breed calves.  There is an interesting room for meetings and presentations, with large glass windows opening up to the cattle barn.  The farm actively makes use of EU funding.  Contact the farm in advance for tours and exchanges of experiences.

The campsite is located 77 km from Riga, surrounded by beautiful forest and sea. The range of offers is wide - beach volleyball court, basketball court, windsurfing, table tennis and more. There are tent sites as well as double or quadruple camping houses. There are facilities for people with reduced mobility. The campsite is open from 1 May until 31 October. The owners have restored a fourth-generation bread oven to continue the tradition of baking bread. The family bakes bread in the autumn and winter months, from September to April. One of the most distinct sub-glacial depressions in Latvia, with 11 lakes of various sizes and depths. This is a magnificently lovely territory, with particularly good views from the Drusku castle hill. On a clear day, one can even see the Hanja highlands of Estonia. The restricted territory was set up to protect boreal and hillside forests I the area.

The farm "Veckūkuri" in Jērcēni parish of Strenči district is included in the top of the most productive herds in Latvia. "Veckūri" is a milk processor that produces non-traditional dairy products from the milk obtained on its farm. The farm is also ranked among the companies that have been awarded the State Export Council awards “Latvian Export Product 2015”.

The owner uses Latvian products to make and offer more than 20 different wines, including some that are made of exotic flowers. You can taste and purchase wines made of berries, fruit, vegetables and flowers, including white jasmine, the elderberry tree, dandelions, the large cranberry, etc. There is a lily garden alongside which is the largest one in Eastern Europe and offers plants for sale.

The day lily garden offers a look at globally famous types of day lilies which can be purchased.  Many of these have been developed by the originator of the garden, Varis Baņģieris.  More than 1,000 types of day lilies can be seen and purchased.  The garden is open from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM every day in July and August, when the flowers bloom.  The owner also offers tastings of homemade wine that is called "Vējkalnietis."

This territory is meant to protect the “green zone” of Rīga. Most of the park is covered with pine forest and dunes with shrubs on them, but Lake Beberbeķi is found at the southern end of the park. The area around the lake has been improved.

This route leads through the Curves of Daugava nature park, which is an area that was once to be flooded for the construction of the Daugavpils hydroelectric power plant.  The central artery in the park is the ancient Daugava River valley, and the specific here is eight grand curves with a length of 4-6 km.  The highest banks of the river are at the so-called Daugava gate, with the mighty Ververi and Slutiški cliffs.  More than ½ of the territory is forested for hiking, nature watching, berry picking and mushroom hunting.  The Daugava River valley has one of the greatest diversities of flora -- >800 different kinds in all.  This is also a multinational environment with Lettigalian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian and Belarusian traditions and heritage.  The Slutiški village, which is unique in Latvia, is popular among tourists.

The Dole is the largest island in the Daugava River, surrounded to the Northeast by the rapid waters of the Daugava and to the Southwest by calm and gradually overgrown waters from Dry Daugava.  The island is a specially protected nature park, established in 1986 to protect the landscape and cultural and historical values of the island in the wake of the construction of the Rīga hydroelectric power plant, as well as rare and protected species of plants and animals.  The island is also meant to provide education and leisure for visitors.  Best known on the island is the Daugava Museum, which is in the mansion of the old Dole Estate.  The museum features some 13,000 exhibits that speak to the history of the island and the river – Baltic and Livonian apparel, tools and household objects.  The exhibition also presents the Daugava as an important waterway and the related history of forms of transport and rafters.  In the park is an open-air exhibition with reconstructed lamprey eel traps and a barrier to fish salmon, along with a set of fishing tools.  A dolomite cliff is alongside the museum on the steep shore of the Dry Daugava.  The ruins of the Vecdole castle can be found on the south-eastern end of the island, near Bēči.

Due to location and nature conditions, Avinurme area has strong woodcraft and business traditions, which are based on knowledge passed on generatoin to generation. The main products have always been wooden vessels – different household items such as barrels, tubs, casks, wooden buckets, sauna wash tubes, wooden roof chips and furniture, particularly chairs.  Wooden Handicrafts Centre you can test your dexterity in the many different workshops offered. This is also a  tourist centre where you can get acquainted with local wood products. There is also a café serving dishes of Peipus region on special wood products, and home-made rye bread is also available here.

This route invites you to visit the Kurzeme region and try the traditional dishes there. Nice attractions en route are the steep coast of the Baltic Sea in Jūrkalne and the medieval town of Kuldīga. In a 19th century watermill, which nowadays is an organic farm, the hostess will give you a masterclass in cooking regional dishes from fallow deer, trout, vegetables and fruit. The last stop on the return back to Riga is the Chocolate Museum at Pūre.

The Kretinga Estate park is one of the oldest ones in Lithuania to have survived to the present days.  Established in the 16th and 17th century, it is a mixed-style park that covers 23 ha of land.  The southern part of the park has an astronomical calendar with a sundial, a hedge, allies, and flowerbeds and rock gardens with dahlias, peonies, tulips and roses.  There are trails for strollers and areas for relaxation.  Particularly popular among local residents is the restored fountain in the park.

Along the A9 road and 500 metres from the turn in the direction of Rīga in Lestene is a memorial by Ojārs Feldbergs which was set up in 1991 in the former Rumbas homestead to commemorate defenders of the Kurzeme fortress.  Despite the fact that the Soviet forces were ten times larger, the Latvian troops allowed some 300,000 Latvian war refugees to escape the horrors of the Soviet Union.
