Armands Slokenbergs became director of the National Tourism Development Agency in the autumn of 2009. He has 12 years of experience in marketing and advertising, which helps to ensure that he is successful in developing Latvia’s tourism sector. Armands has a different viewpoint about the dynamic tourism sector. At the agency, he has done several strategically important things. The new slogan for Latvian tourism (“Best Enjoyed Slowly”) was developed in partnership with professionals from the sector. The official Latvian tourism portal has been updated and redesigned to satisfy the latest trends. A new tourism strategic has been developed, and that will help many businesspeople in Latvia to develop their operations.
It’s also important to mention that Armands has spoken at many different conferences in Rīga and elsewhere in Latvia to inform people from the tourism sector about important issues. He has also represented Latvia at international tourism exhibitions and various events.
