Upmali – a farm for the environment and health

This is an organic farm with a wide range of offers for tourists. Māra Bergmane will tell visitors about the beliefs and knowledge which our ancestors had when it comes to health. She will lead a tour of fields where medicinal plants are grown - several dozen kinds of plants in all. She produces medicinal teas and allows visitors to taste and purchase them. There are also special herbal pillows for beloved kitty cats.

This farmer grows and harvests some 30 different kinds of medicinal plants, including peppermint, marigold, camomile, oregano, hyssop, wormwood, oats, thyme, meadow-sweet and others. The farmer offers tours of the farm with information about medicinal plants and their use. In the autumn, teas that are made from the various plants can be purchased.

Maurini, environmental health farm

On this health farm, visitors can examine various kinds of animals - rabbits, goats, pigs, cows and horses, as well as more exotic creatures such as Cameroonian sheep and the steppe marmot. The sauna on the farm is based on the principles of the Lettigalian black sauna. Sauna procedures involve drinking of special teas, opening of the pores and the use of various kinds of sauna switches. Sauna treatments are available. Tours of the farm are available, wild horses and other wild animals are also nearby. Biological produce can be bought.

This farm is around three hectares in size, and the owner grows 10 different kinds of medicinal plants, including oregano, hyssop, melissa, cat’s-foot and others. Tours are available, and medicinal teas can be tasted. Teas are also available for purchase, as are special mixtures of teas, as well as sauna switches that are made of the medicinal plants. |

Jumari, biological farm

The owner of this farm offers tours of her facilities, as well as the area of Valpene. The “Jumari” farm sells dairy products, fruit and vegetables (which the visitor can pick), berries and honey. There is livestock, and visitors can take part in farm work – feed the animals, reap and collect hay, etc. The owner also prepares pillows of medicinal plants, as well as bookmarks.
