Sprogi, biological fruit orchard
At the former Aistere baronial estate, Jānis Pakalns has planted an orchard, and for more than two decades he has not used any artificial fertilisers. The orchard has some 240 apple trees (120 different kinds), 30 varieties of pears, and also plums. Visitors can taste 120 (!) kinds of apples year-round, and consultations and purchase of products are offered. This is known as the “most romantic” orchard in Latvia.

Silkalni, growers of medicinal plants
In “Silkalni farm of medicinal herbs the visitors can get information on diverse medicinal herbs found in meadows, fields and gardens, forests, swamps, courtyards and flowerbeds, their application in natural medicine and healthcare. During the excursion the hostess uncovers the secrets of herbs, their planting, collecting, drying and shares the recipes of tea blends, syrups and extracts. The tourists can taste and purchase the herbal teas. Upon request the host offers the lecture on force of natural energies – underground streams and stones.

Ragares, organic farm
This farmer has installed her garden in the upper part of the Daugava River bank. She has more than 100 different kinds of plants, including decorative plants, herbs, medicinal plants, as well as traditional Latvian garden plants. The farm features the largest plantation of the Northern actinidia in Latvia. Tours of the garden are available, and visitors can purchase plants, taste the local produce and receive consultations.

On the banks of the Daugava River, Ineta Sproģe grows cat’s-foot, hemp and vegetables, including potatoes, carrots, beets, cabbage, etc. Visitors can purchase vegetables, hemp butter and medicinal plants. Accommodations and a sauna are available.

Laima, organic farm

This farm features a playground for children, a “dream house”, slides and a very entertaining educational trail. There is a basketball court and a football field. The farm produces organic vegetables, fruit and berries, as well as milk and dairy products. The produce can be purchased, and during the summer visitors can help in picking apples and black currants. There are accommodations, a sauna and facilities for parties and other events. Marite Meziniece has written poetry about her own farm, and she will be happy to recite it.

Salenieki, organic farm
This farm produces organic dairy products, as well as bread from the farm’s own wheat and rye, vegetables and a wide range of herbs. The fields and hothouses produce peppers, watermelons, other melons and Jerusalem artichokes. The produce, along with medicinal herbal teas, can be tasted and purchased. Visitors can order up a batch of pancakes with honey that is also produced on the farm. Boating and rafting on the Lielā Kalupes lake, with fishing. Accommodations and facilities for seminars and parties are available.

The LIELKALNI farm
The LIELKALNI farm planted two hectares of uncommon berries four years ago – golden currants, viburnum, large-fruit hazel trees, sea buckthorn, the black elder, five-flavour berries, the Chinese gooseberry, edible honey-suckle, etc. The farm has been biologically certified since 2008. In 2009 it received certification from the Latvian Food and Veterinary Service for the production of health-boosting syrups, jellies, jams and teas. Tourists can taste the teas, seasonal berries, syrups, jellies and other treats, all of which are also available for sale.

Maurini, environmental health farm
On this health farm, visitors can examine various kinds of animals - rabbits, goats, pigs, cows and horses, as well as more exotic creatures such as Cameroonian sheep and the steppe marmot. The sauna on the farm is based on the principles of the Lettigalian black sauna. Sauna procedures involve drinking of special teas, opening of the pores and the use of various kinds of sauna switches. Sauna treatments are available. Tours of the farm are available, wild horses and other wild animals are also nearby. Biological produce can be bought.
