In the central part of the Žemaitija Highland, this park was established to protect local landscapes. Lithuania’s highest hillocks are found here – Mėdvegalis (235 m above sea level) and Šatrija (229 m). There are also other hillocks which offer a great view of the area – make up your own tour here.

The terrain in this territory was created during the Ice Age. There are the ancient river valleys of the Minija, Salantas and Erla rivers, along with groups of rocks.

This park is located in the northern part of the Žemaitija Highlands, and much of it is taken up by Lake Plateliai. The park was established to protect lakes, rivers, wetlands and forest ecosystems, as well as the local cultural environment.

| Naglu dabas rezervats (Naglių gamtos rezervatas) |
Aiz Gārņu kalna Kuršu jomas pusē sākas ~ 9 km garš klaju un smilšainu kāpu posms, kas ir viena no neparastākajām Baltijas teritorijām. Tās aizsardzības nolūkos ir izveidots dabas rezervāts. Šī ir arī viena no vietām, kur klejojošās smilšu kāpas apraka Kuršu jomas ciemus. Kā to iepazīt? Spēkratu un divriteņu vadītājiem ir jābrauc līdz ceturtajam (pēc kārtas) autostāvlaukumam un jādodas atklāt Baltijas lielākais smilšu tuksnesis. Lai saglabātu šejienes ainavu un trauslo augāju, kā arī neveicinātu smilšu tālāku kustību, cauri Nagļu dabas rezervātam ir izveidota īpaša koka laipu taka. Kāpas augšdaļas smiltājos laipa beidzas, taču tālāk redzams ar koka mietiņiem marķēts „koridors". Šī ir ļoti populāra pastaigu, izziņas, fotografēšanas un gleznošanas vieta. No kāpu vaļņa virsotnes paveras fantastisks skats un Kuršu strēli, Kuršu jomas un Baltijas jūras zilajiem ūdeņiem. Uzmanību! Šī ir vienīgā vieta no Kopgaļa līdz Nidai, kur klajo un smilšaino kāpu apskatei ir izveidota īpaša taka. Citviet pa kāpu smiltājiem staigāt vai citādi pārvietoties nav atļauts! |

| The Curves of Nemuna Regional Park |
This lovely part of the Nemuna River between Alytus and Pakuonis meanders through cliffs that are up to 40 m high.

| The Meteliai Regional Park |
There are three large lakes at the centre of this park – Lake Dusia, Lake Metelys, and Lake Obelija. Lake Dusia has very clear and transparent water, and its southern and south-eastern beaches are popular among swimmers. The lakes and their nearby wetlands are important during the migration season of birds.

| The Nemuna Delta Regional Park |
The Nemuna River divides up into two large streams at its estuary at Kuršių Marios, and this has established the Rusnė Island. This is a unique environmental territory with wetlands, streams, ancient rivers, lagoon lakes and flood plains which are important places for birds to nest and rest during migration season. Vast tracts of this territory are flooded each spring. The park includes the territory to the N and W of Rusne (lagoons, swamps, fishing ponds, Kuršių Marios).

| The Cepkelių Nature Park |
This is Lithuania’s largest mossy swamp, and the Čepkeliu Nature Reserve was established to protect it. Before visiting the swamp, you must register at the Dzūkijos National Park’s visitor centre (Marcinkonys, Šilagėlių gatve 11). |

| The Dunes of Courland National Park |
This is the only place in the Baltic States where there is such a vast territory of open-air sand dunes which still change the local terrain very actively because of the wind. The only Sea Museum and Dolphinarium in the Baltic States can be found here.

| The Dubysa Regional Park |
This park was set up to protect the lovely ancient valley of the Dubysa River. This is one of the most popular rivers for water tourism in Lithuania, because it has a significant drop with rapids and beautiful shorelines.
