Kopš 2015. gada februāra Carnikavas nēģiem piešķirta Ģeogrāfiskas izcelsmes norāde zīme. Tas nozīmē, ka nosaukumu „Carnikavas nēģi” drīkst izmantot tikai Carnikavas novadā laikā no 1.augusta līdz 1.februārim ar murdiem Gaujas upes lejtecē pie iztekas zvejotiem svaigiem nēģiem un arī apstrādātiem nēģiem, ja to pārstrāde notikusi Carnikavas novadā atbilstoši specifikācijai. Šo zīmi patlaban izmanto astoņi nēģu zvejnieki un cepēji. Viens no pazīstamākajiem ir SIA “Krupis”, kas ne tikai piedāvā ceļotājiem nogaršot nēģus, bet arī iepazīstina ar Gaujas apkārtnes nēģu ķeršanas un gatavošanas tradīcijām. |
