Candle factory "Anima Candles"

This farm is in the village of Sigunda and was established more than 10 years ago, when the owner returned to the countryside and looked for new things to do.  The farm has chickens and rabbits, but the main job for the owner is to make candles.  The factory is in Suntaži. 

Sirje Neimane established the AnimaCandles brand, teaching herself how to make candles and visiting various candle companies.  AnimaCandles involve amber. 

A master class will allow visitors to prepare their own candles from ecological soy wax and dried flowers.  They will also learn about various techniques in the area of candle making.  After the class, there will be a visit to the factory in Suntaži, which is around 7 km away.  During the visit to the workshop, visitors are invited to join in practical work such as preparing candle moulds, preparing wicks, etc.

THE PROGRAMME:

• Arrival at the Neimaņbuki homestead to meet owner Sirje;
• A tour of the farm, with Sirje talking abut how she returned home and changed her lifestyle;
• Gathering of plants and preparing them for drying;
• A creative candle workshop, with each participant making two candles;
• A visit to the AnimaCandles factory in Suntaži, touring the workshop and having a chance to take part in practical work such as preparing candle moulds, wicks, etc.
