These farmers turned to watermelon growing in 1997, making use of varieties that are appropriate for Latvia. The largest melon to be produced by the farm so far weighed 7.6 kilograms. Visitors can study “yellow watermelons”, which feature yellow flesh. Locally grown watermelons and watermelon seeds are for sale.
